Brothers On My Jock. He destroyed that shyt. This is also before 327 people flipped Nautilus, so the beat was extra flames. nikkas don't rap uptempo any more, man.:stopitslime: Everything is slow or double time...

haha funny because most cats would say hardcore but brothers on my jock verse was absolutely ridiculous too. i asked the damn question and to be honest i can't even decide

cosign uptempo rap man it's definitely a lost art. no way we hear a wrath of kane, set it off, lyrics of fury, men at work, follow the leader or the big payback anytime soon. funny i remember masta ace commenting that in the late 80's/early 90's he used to contend that a slow bpm record would never be a smash hit.. that is until he heard missy the rain and had to concede that he was wrong. it's bugged how hip hop just switches and changes like that

oh ok i fukks with you heavy right now because i feel the same way. granted we all know whut thee album & muddy waters are classics too but i feel like dare doesn't get it's true due when we talk favorite redman albums

if i had one tiny complaint about that LP i wish reggie had the rockafella remix beat instead of the original that he made a single. not that i thought the track was weak but it just didn't move me like the rest of the amazing production on the album. when i heard the remix i lost it man lol. i remember the cella dwellas blessing that beat on one of those college radio stations and they got hype when the DJ threw that on, it was made for rhyming. not sure if reggie produced that too but it's incredible

anyway all that aside cosmic slop, basically, wuditlooklike, bobyahed2dis, green island etc were all breath taking man... listen i never left the crib without my dare iz a darkside CD and tical. month of the man was poppin back in '94

E. Sermon had said Red wanted more creative control on Dare is a Darkside. If you noticed, Red produced most of the album.

The rockafella remix beat was produced by E. Sermon. As well as "Can't wait". when i come around. After Red saw the response from "Can't wait", they decided to go back to the formula of E handling the bulk of the production, and we got "Muddy Waters".

Hardcore.

Red's alliteration was incredible. :whew:

One of his best verses ever.

a monster murder mothafukks like manson, a madman who mutilize men with my 9MM :bustback:

bro every rapper in school started doing the redman alliteration style after that record. it became the new big daddy kane yes, i bless, possess, finesse, progress style lol. everybody started copying that shyt. pretty impressive for a debut rapper. reminds me a lot of the impact k solo had with his debut spelling style on knick knack patty wack. how erick and parrish kept finding these incredible rappers with these unique groundbreaking styles is beyond me man

Yeah between K-Solo, Redman and Das Efx, Erick and Parrish could find the talent. Solo was Parrish's artist. Red was Erick's. Das was both E and P's. Craig Mack was either down or was going to be down with the Hit Squad at one point before the break up. They from the same area. Keith Murray was going to be next too.
