Redfall Is Always Online Even In Single-Player, Bethesda Confirms “That Was Different” OT

Gamers have been conditioned to accept games as disposable media. You buy it and play it for a year or whatever then abandon it and years later when you want to revisit it there’s a remake to sell you.

Deep down this isn’t really a single player game. It sounds like minimal mods were made to a multiplayer game so people could play it alone but it’s still a multiplayer game at its heart. That’s not what someone buying a game marketed as having a single player mode wants.

We’ve seen games come out and within a year companies decide servers aren’t worth it shutting them down. Requiring an internet connection isn’t problematic because you need to be online it’s problematic because they need to keep their servers online or what you purchased is worthless.

My game console is always online so that’s not a problem. Will their servers always be online too?

Microsoft holds servers open longer than anyone. They have not shut down servers for any game within a year. Games that came out 10+ years ago are still able to connect.

But yeah, Redfall is a multiplayer game that can be played by one player.

I’ve said from the beginning this was always meant to be a multiplayer first game, they even had a in-game store in the leaks.

it was announced as a co-op game, that could also be played solo. there was never any doubt that it's fundamentally a multiplayer game

They’ve been trying to plot their marketing to be “far cry” which is even funnier considering how much @MeachTheMonster bags on “ubisoft” games, yet in this game you are clearing “vampire camps” and powering on lighthouses, just like a standard open world ubi game.

GT7 is like the 12th Gran turismo game and the only one that’s “always online” and it didn’t work for 30 hours at launch cause the shyt was broken.
