There is no way this is the last of Read Dead, this is R* second biggest IP...

The next Red dead will either have us playing as Dutch building the gang and ending with the Blackwater massacre or play as Jack during the prohibition era...I personally prefer the latter of the two...

And we're never getting another Max Payne now that Dan is gone...MP3 was Dan's project, he's always loved that franchise and is the reason they did that game...With Dan gone I don't see anyone picking up MP4...Plus MP3 felt like closure and the end of Max chapter...:francis:

You nikkas forgetting SP advocate Dan houser is gone and RDR 2 online failed. Doubtful we'll see a sequel.

RDR2 online hasn't failed and they wouldn't shyt can arguably the second most profitable IP in gaming right now because of MP...

They been working a major update for RDR2 online and because its taking time nobody bothering to login to run the same missions over and over...

That's not failure, that's how multiplayer games with limited content work...

RDR online with be fine and an RDR3 is GUARANTEED to become reality...

Dude gtfo, RDR2 online has failed. There's nothing they can do unless they port it to ps5. Compared to V online it's terrible.

nikka did you even play GTA online when it first dropped?

RDR Online right now is literally where GTA online was before the heists DLC dropped...:gucci:

Once again, the problem with RDR Online is content which is on its way...They're working on a big update, once that drops the player count will go up again...This is how content based multiplayer games work bruh...

GTA Online had a high playerbase from 13-15

RDR2 has been losing players.

You're on drugs if you think RDR online will become GTA online

I never said nor implied that...:gucci:

All I said was its not a failure and currently finds itself in the same situation GTA online was in prior to the heists DLC...

It doesn't need to pull GTA money to be a success...

It does have to pull in GTA online money to be successful to take two interactive :gucci:

You don't know what you're talking about.

You're crazy if you think they're abandoning red dead

Y'all nikkas have dementia or something? Take two wants successful games that have profitable online modes. RDR2 online is lackluster galore. The guy that advocated Single player focused gaming: Dan Houser; is gone Because he didn't want anything to do with online. They canned Bully 2 and he just quits. Not a coincidence.

The only problem with Red Dead moving forward is it's locked into a very specific era. The American Frontier, which only last from about 1850 to 1910. They can't jump eras like GTA from 80's Miami, to 90's LA, to modern day NYC or LA. They can't really continue the Jack Marston story arc, because the Wild West is basically over at the end of RDR1. I'm not really interested in another prequel set around Dutch. before the events on RDR2.

Maybe a new story set around a Mexican character set in Mexico or something, I dunno. It's weird they spent all that time making New Austin and didn't really use it that much in the single player campaign (just that bounty mission with Sadie) or online. I guess that was due to the game being rushed.

Lol at anyone who thinks RDR2 was the last RDR game.

I think they'll make one more and just leave it as a trilogy. Theres still entire chapters of the gangs story to be told, RDR1&2 were only about the gangs last days and the old west dying out - theres still plenty of narrative to be told about the gang when they were at the height of their notoriety during the peak of the old west era.

For me the best case scenario (and IMO most likely) would be to play as Dutch in his younger years - seeing what led him to form the gang, learning more about his motivations and seeing how he met Hosea etc. Then theres the beef with Colm O'Driscool - could possibly see how that all started and play through certain events like Dutch killing his brother and Colm killing Dutch's girl.

You must have missed the 30 million copies sold and numerous accolades RDR2 racked up lol. The highest selling game since GTA V

I don't think R* is beholden to their established IPs. Anecdotal, but most ppl I know would buy whatever new action game they came out with, especially if it was open world. Honestly I would welcome it :yeshrug:

Brehs....

The focus is online. GTA V and RDR has sold well, yes.

But that's not the point.

Take Two wants Rockstar to make top selling games that have a online mode that make twice as much as it originally sold but via microtransactions; sound familiar? Yeah, GTA V.

Point is it's a success to TAKE TWO IF THE ONLINE CAN BE MILKED. NOT WHAT YOU OR I THINK. TO TAKE TWO.

I kind of want to play this again after I finish TLOU2. I never actually finished the epilogue or whatever it was after Arthur died.
