I'd love to play a RD game where we could play as Arthur and see the gang in their primesPrime beef with the Odriscolls and lead up to what exactly happened with that Blackwater mission

That's probably going to be what RDR3 will be about since R* has seemingly given up on the idea of single player dlc. In RDR1 they dropped a lot of hints that there would be a sequel, and in RDR2 they we're very vague about Blackwater.

I wouldn't say hints of a sequel but the vague hint was John talking about being in a gang in RDR 1

Tbh I didn't think RDR2 would continue John's story.

They always tease us with shyt. I dont understand how we couldnt have just started with the Blackwater robbery. shyt sounded nuts and some events from that spread through the franchise.

That was the moment where john killed a woman the stranger is talking about in RDR 1.

That was the moment where Dutch first started to turn by going a little nuts. Then it slowly crept up on him

I will say this much. RDR2 closed this story perfectly.

I do not want to revisit John or Arthur. Not because they werent great characters, they are possibly my favorite video game characters ever.

But, this story doesnt need another chapter. It's absolutely perfect. Yes I wouldve liked if they included a couple things like the Blackwater mission but it doesnt really need it.

If another Red Dead game ever happens 10 years from now, It wont be RDR 3 it'll red Dead something else like revolver was. The series would be way better off starting a new story with a new character completely.

I seriously doubt that. Red Dead is Rockstars best selling series after GTA. There’s no way that they will abandon it anytime soon.

I dont know. Theres a lot of hype built into this franchise. The way they ended it was perfect so I wouldnt be mad at them for leaving it as is.

But I can see another one way off in the future.

I gotta disagree. The problem with both RDR 1&2 is that R* purposely left things vague for a reason. I remember when RDR1 came out and afterwards people wanted to see John's life before he was killed, and now they've done the same thing with Arthur. They really can't move forward until they finally wrap up all the mysteries with the Van Der Linde gang. If they don't come out with a story dlc that includes Blackwater, then I can guarantee you that RDR3 will be the final chapter in the Dutch series.

They can't go forward in time since the wild west is basically finished by the time Jack grows up, and they can't stay in the old west without clearing up the questions from RDR2. RDO is a colossal failure so I'm still holding out hope that they do a story dlc to end the series on a high note.

There is no way this is the last of Read Dead, this is R* second biggest IP...

The next Red dead will either have us playing as Dutch building the gang and ending with the Blackwater massacre or play as Jack during the prohibition era...I personally prefer the latter of the two...

And we're never getting another Max Payne now that Dan is gone...MP3 was Dan's project, he's always loved that franchise and is the reason they did that game...With Dan gone I don't see anyone picking up MP4...Plus MP3 felt like closure and the end of Max chapter...
