Terrible comparison, the worst said about RDR2 is that it's "boring" to some. It's the true Game Of The Generation. TLOU2 doesn't have nearly as much of replayability as this game. I had a Arthur save 60% into the story but accidentally saved over it with my John save and didn't even care. Just started up a THIRD playthrough because of that yesterday. This game is has the same magic that VC, SA, IV, Bully, Manhunt and RDR1 has. (MP3, LA Noire not so much) it's already an iconic experience imo.

RE2 Remake, a game that doesn't really have an immersive story and equipped with a very limited, rigid gameplay experience still somehow, some way is more enjoyable than TLOU2. same goes Days Gone and it's poor animatuons. That's what happens when you lose the poetic atmosphere of the original game and infuse the highly anticipated sequel with LGBT Agendas. The whole time the game just looks like it's trying to compete with another game storywise by pushing the "shock factor" every so often.

this.
I want to add that, NO fan of the RDR franchise has ever said the bold, that opinion of the game has exclusively come from a minority of folk that find all R* games boring...

To me that is a huge difference here between RDR2 and TLOU2 that cannot be understated...

It's one thing for your haters to hate it, and another for a very large group of your fanbase to hate it...

You don't get the point I was making, people who weren't into it only issue with the game is that it was boring. Whereas TLOU2 it's a clusterfukk of issues

No need for the juelz.gif reply - I clearly said they were completely different games. They just have some minor similarities like story telling through notes/letters, rural locations, 'realistic' art direction/character models, both wanting you to develop an attachment to lead characters etc. But ultimately people will compare them anyway based on them being two major third person AAA titles made by the two leading studios in gaming.

Besides I only made that post as an indirect reply to you mentioning TLOU2 first - in doing that you were kinda comparing them already.

They are only comparable in story telling. I posted before TLOU2 bit a lot from RDR2. Wouldn't be surprised if Neil is a Red Dead fan and wanted to try to make a story like it

Which he failed in doing

Also there was no Juelzing. Idiots like you love to dismiss anything that doesn't align with their own thoughts.

Well actually RDR2 bit from TLOU - the story telling through notes/letters was originally done in TLOU1, Rockstar undeniably took influence from that and implemented it into RDR2 - which I'm not even criticising as it was done brilliantly in RDR2. But honestly you shouldn't let your attachment to one game cloud your judgement because it just makes you sound like a fan boy.

However I wont disagree that Druckmann is a fan of RDR2 - there was a ton of things in TLOU2 that made me think of RDR2, not necessarily gameplay features (aside from the horse riding) but just small details like decorations and ornaments inside houses. Early on in the game you're in a house and theres a shyt ton of horse ornaments and paintings depicting the rural American frontier - it's almost like it was done on purpose to make you think of RDR in a weird way.

But whatever, they're both incredible games and all time favourites of mine.

There's a noticeable divide on TLOU2s position in "all time" rankings. Critics will agree, the players not as much. RDR2 is universally loved by everyone unless they're name is Fatboi1

ya...only main gripe about the game once it got cooking was how silly some of dutch's dialogue/actions were and how much bullshyt arthur (as an outlaw) tolerated from him...relationship be damned
To be fair, the Beaver Hollow chapter focused on Dutch descent into madness...

Dutch was a father figure to Arthur and John who were both orphans he took in...That's why Arthur tolerated him, he wasn't going to abandon his father because he's losing his mind...

The Grimshaw scene was puzzling though, I didn't quite get that dialogue but he did do the same thing to Arthur later on and left John to die...It's painfully clear Dutch wasn't in the right frame of mind and confused, which does somewhat explain his puzzling actions...

They couldn't be more polar opposites IMO...

On story alone, only one of them has been universally praised by gamers/fans...

RDR2 shows you how to kill off a beloved protagonist the right way and pass the torch on to another, TLOU2 is in exercise in how to do it the wrong way...

In terms of game of the gen, Witcher 3, God Of War and RDR2 are far superior to TLOU2...

If I was to do a tier layout of this gen, TLOU2 wouldn't be in the same tier as those games...
I already beat TLOU2 but the more I play it, the less I care about the story
They force the Abby character on you by forcing you to play as her for half the game
The entire game felt like one huge attempt to get you to like this new character and rationalize the way they go about it
I would have preferred a standard revenge story with Joel coming along but this time Ellie is the protagonist and Joel is the side kick
Joel could still die but they could have went about the story better because it's forgettable
