I think Cody was starting to represent Sports Entertainment to the AEW crowd which is not what they want at all…at least not in the open

He’s clean, nice athletic background, well groomed no homo, from privilege, good speaker, attractive Barbie doll looking wife, wealthy on his own merits in addition to generationally

He represents what they average wrestling fan could never be which makes his relatability entirely unattainable. People hate that. They loved it in the 80s, they love it for their kids, but they hate it personally. WWE fans are polar opposite of AEW fans. A bland white meat babyface has an unlimited ceiling in WWE because the fans don't care/aren't smark enough to phantom book what should be next, what swerve should happen, how the heel turn should go. Cody just didn't work in AEW because in that promotion the fans are booked to, so when the fans didn't get what they wanted they booed. Plus the promos were complete dumpster juice.

If you watch WWE content you take what you're given because whether it's Vince or Hunter they don't care what the internet thinks. Because of that Cody has no problem whatsoever getting this shyt off and WWE's actively helping him so yeah he's going to be fine

They want it to happen so they can do a "See I was right about Cody". In reality before the injury Cody was plastered on production trucks, got his own PPV/Live event poster in little time flat, only wrestler they bothered advertising for house shows, WWE had a sitdown interview with the mainstream media queued up when he got back, he's probably leading merch sales over Bray & Roman at this point. There has been nothing on the WWE fans side that shows they're tired of him. They've clearly put a rocket on him and they're not going to stop until they get what they want, which is to finally have a big enough babyface that they can have go over Roman.

Yeah him coming back to all this was a shock to everybody but they're the only ones still shocked at this point, it's because they're still holding onto something. He made them sit through some WOAT promos so they want their pound of flesh no matter what for the trouble
