Real Talk, There’s No Reason Cody Should Be Over. Someone Explain It.

Lots of talk about fans turning on him why do we think that what have we seen so far that shows that? Or a more direct question why do the AEW fans want it to happen so badly

Whether getting bored of this Doing it for Dusty shyt or wanting Sami to win at Mania and not Cody, y'all are wanting WWE fans to not want him to work out

WWE fans are polar opposite of AEW fans. A bland white meat babyface has an unlimited ceiling in WWE because the fans don't care/aren't smark enough to phantom book what should be next, what swerve should happen, how the heel turn should go. Cody just didn't work in AEW because in that promotion the fans are booked to, so when the fans didn't get what they wanted they booed. Plus the promos were complete dumpster juice.

If you watch WWE content you take what you're given because whether it's Vince or Hunter they don't care what the internet thinks. Because of that Cody has no problem whatsoever getting this shyt off and WWE's actively helping him so yeah he's going to be fine

No that’s not why Cody was booed in AEW, he was booed because that type of babyface doesn’t work in AEW, it doesn’t work anywhere outside of WWE, just like babyface Hogan getting booed in WCW (before the heel turn). Cody fit WWE better and I ultimately think that was the real reason why he left.

He's over bc he's the first one to jump ship back to WWE from a major promotion since WCW went out of business over 20 years ago and they book him strong and kept everything about him the same from his AEW presentation, that's literally it. He still the same bland performer.

His return was the first time in 20+ years we had an attitude era like "promotion jump" to WWE (not vice versa, there been a bunch of those).... You could argue AJ Styles/bullet club/Shinsuke was the closest thing to it but that was from NJPW (less visibility to Americans then AEW) and also same effect, AJ was incredibly over

he's over for kind of the same reason ricochet is over.. both are pretty corny and don't have that edge to em that the internet fans like, but they're both super talented and athletic and genuinely passionate about the business and have that underdog David vs Goliath thing going for them that little jimmy and the rest of the more casual fans can get behind..

I also imagine that in Cody's case, people are also glad he's back 'home' and its also the fans giving kind of a subtle 'fukk you' to aew fans for not appreciating Cody as well and giving him the cheers and praise that they felt aew fans should've given him, that is just speculation though ..

A year ago CAWdy had the aura of being the first to jump from AEW. Usually I think it's good for wrestlers to get time off and let the fans miss them, but in this case the time off was actually the worst thing for him because a lot of that jumping from AEW luster has worn off and other dudes got steam behind them (Sami) while he was off TV. Including the dude who took him out in storyline (Seth).
