We're 5th in the west with 2 of our top 6 players injured. I can easily see Harrison Barnes becoming Rudy Gay or better. In other words I can see us becoming the new Memphis next season. shyt we're only 1 game behind them right now with no Bogut or Rush. Add those 2 to the roster and is it hard to imagine us beating LAC in a best of 7?

The Warriors are never winning an NBA title with this group. You guys do not have a franchise changer. The only reason why you are saying that every time has a chance is because you have deluded yourself into thinking this Warriors team have the chance to win a title. They do not. What is sad is that your organization will delude themselves into thinking this group can do it, but they will not. You will be let down each year you just get knocked out in the first or 2nd round each year.

THe only reason why you made this post is because you have deluded yourself and have gone all in on the Warriors being a title team. They are not.

This.

and to add, I may work in the biz, but to not drive myself crazy, I have to completely lower expectations for my team, which as a fan, it sucks, but I know even if all goes correctly, my team's never gonna win it all. I admit it. It's never gonna happen. It's not a realistic vision I have anymore. Every other team I root for may have their issues, but one day, I could honestly see a situation where if they play their cards right, they can win it all. I can't say that about the T'wolves (and I'm dangerously close to saying this about the Jets, but even their retarded asses went to 2 AFC title games with the crappiest QB in football).

I watch the Wolves the way I watch Boston University men's basketball. I can't delude myself into having championship hopes. I can only think of what may be realistically attainable. A Patriot League (beginning next year) title and a tourney bid? Reasonable. An NIT bid? Reasonable. For the Wolves? a reasonable season has been reduced to winning 30 games, with a dream season being a playoff bid or my owner dying. Most other teams can still hope for a title even during bad times.

The Timberwolves can win an NBA title, but you need a franchise changer. That is what everyone waits for, is that guy.

Rubio was never that, even before the injuries. Love is def not that.

Its not impossible, but you do have to be realistic about your team's prospects each year. I agree.

Japan, but from the 989
I don't even want to hear this crap argument...I'm a Lion's fans and since I have been alive we have been to the playoffs two times in my lifetime. Last year we made it to the playoffs and I thought things would change....And then this year's reality hits...In the NBA if your team gets two or three superstars you are in the playoffs. If they play well together they will go far. The Pistons had a great TEAM that's why they spanked the Laker's ass that year and won the title. The NBA is much easier to watch than the fukking Lions...Trust me.

I don't believe you have to have a franchise changer to win a title. I hate to keep pointing to the 04 Pistons team but they're a perfect example. If you play defense and rebound and have multiple scorers then I believe you can put yourself in position to win. I never said we have a chance to win a title. What I do know is that this roster could get to the Western Conference finals by next season. It's about baby steps. No team has gone from not making the playoffs to playing in the finals the next season. I know we have a front office that will find a way to get the pieces to get it done very soon. We have the assets to make a trade for a "Franchise Changer" too. My squad is only getting better.......can't say the same for alotta teams.

Okay so let's put it this way. Would you be shocked if Memphis beat the Clippers in the playoffs? How many top 10 players does Memphis have? How many top 10 players do the Lakers have? See what I mean when I say you can win without a "Franchise Changer" when you have guys that defend and rebound along with multiple scorers?

you should be banned from this thread

I understand you are happy with your Warrirors squad, but you really are exposing yourself. You don't know much about NBA basketball

When was the last time the Mavericks had a lottery pick? They add Tyson Chandler and they get a ring. At the time Tyson Chandler was given away for an expiring contract. Smart GM's make smart moves fam.

I am not denying that. I have never denied that. The only thing that I called into question was you comparison of the NBA and NFL drafts. Of course GMs gotta make moves, however you gotta have more luck on your side in the NBA just to get a shot at most of the top players.

I think Ricky could be that, but that's for another convo. I just think there are so many things working against them that even having that doesn't mean we're out of the woods. Now shyt, they've done their lion's share of crap to put themselves in this position, but I also witnessed a time where things were being built right but shyt beyond their control started messing with it.

It's been so long since they've had a playoff appearance that winning a title doesn't even seem real and it would be foolish to even think about right now (not saying the team should think that way), but objectively, I can't be ridiculous about it.

The reason why stans here only bother me but so much is because I know people in real life that say the kind of shyt they say. They just feel it's part of being a fan, so they look at me weird for keeping it too real sometimes about certain squads. I'd love to sit here and be like "Kevin Love's the best PF in the league" and "Mark Sanchez's gonna lead us to a Superbowl fukk the haters" etc., but I can't, because reality won't let me get my hopes up, therefore I don't.

The 62 teams that won NBA titles, only the Detroit Pistons won an NBA title without a franchise changer. So yes, you are correct, you do not need a franchise changer to win a title. 1/62 times, or 1.6 percent of the time it is certainly possible. If you want to cling to that 1.6 percent to boost your the Warriors, esteem then you can go for it but it is never going to happen. OKC will always be the better team, barring injury. As long as CP3 is in LA, the Clippers will always be the better team as well.

Basically, there's always just 2-3 teams that has a legit opportunity to win a chip.

Unless you acquire a top 15 player, then there's no way in hell you'll be a legit team(sans 04 Pistons). So if you're a small market team, then you better draft well or stockpile on young players/picks to trade for a star.

Basketball is still fun, it's just crazy about how only a few teams can actually compete for a chip. Unless you a Heat/Thunder/Clipper fan, then there's no hope til 2015 the earliest :wow: :damn:

thats why i was praying that owners would have held out for them non-guaranteed contracts during lockout. :birdman:

Its how I am with the Wizards. I just hope for the best but expect nothing, and I never suggest the Wizards will win a title. It is just not happening.

Okay okay..you are right we did get in couple of times in the 1990's...but shyt...they were usually one and done wild card games..that shyt don't count. Then that season we didn't win jack and shyt...The NBA is still easier to watch than the fukking Lions. And lets not get into Thanksgiving day games.
