Like most things in 1999, it was :mindblown: one week they're all random guys out for themselves and the next they come on the stage together all holding 2x4's like Jim Duggan :russ:

I can't...

I was a huge Mankind & Shamrock mark so when they formed I was like :krs:

I don't even remember this acronym:

The Union (aka U.P.Y.O.U.R.S.: Union of People You OUghtta Respect, Son

That's why Austin/Rock >>>> WCW at the time. Sure as hell wasn't an entire WWF effort, except maybe Mankind almost killing himself.

Naw, by 1998/1999 WWF was definitely going in circles around WCW. You mention Austin and Rock, but forget Undertaker/Kane, Edge/Christian;etc

The Union was straight cornball shyt... the only good thing about it is how they instantly saw it was wack and pulled the plug on it. I can only imagine how ridiculous it would've gotten if they'd kept it going. Probly woulda resulted in them vs. the Ministry in a 2x4 on a Pole Battle Royal at Summerslam or some shyt.

then there's the dumb Blue Blazer shyt... just dumb... and all because Owen refused an equally dumb Russo storyline. :rip:

And also, people forget this was the first time secondary titles started to mean less and less, cause the shyts were changing hands every two weeks.

I mean sure it (or rather the stars) drew, but the writing got so much better after Kreski took over.

All those stupid ass, WrestleCrap worthy storylines >>>>>> generic, forgettable crap that's 90% of Raw in the PG era

True. I always remember thinking 99 was just an okay year even a couple years after it happened.. but I'll take it over anything from 05 on.

2000 and 2002 were extremely great for actual wrestling, while 1998 will always be the most memorable year for launching the era and having the most defining moments.. at the same time though I think 1997 was really the gem of the attitude era storyline wise. Heel Bret and the Hart Foundation vs. The USA was one of my favorite storylines of all time.

russo's storylines are out there and they did the wwe a good amount of business but i hated the fact he was pushed the entertainment factor more than the in ring aspect of pro wrestling

No 1 wants to admit it, but the in ring product of WWE in 2012 to 2013 is 1,000,000 times better than 1999.
