Reading and math competency chart broken down by race and state. Black Americans are doing pitiful.

Here’s the context though in America. How do you get people in who actually give a damn about strangers education? That comes from MONEY. When you really take a step back a lot of this is economic. Even poor WHITE areas struggle with education.

But I’ve personally seen kids with shyt home situations succeed because their school was amazing with amazing staff. It matters, you can’t pick your parents but you can control your surroundings
There's some game to that no doubt.

But you don't have to be rich or in more affluent situations to value education. Many of our greatest and brightest have come from situations and areas that aren't the greatest. And when a kid shows that they care (instilled in it by their parents who also show that they care), then the teachers will care too. Both of my wife's parents were teachers. One taught in the inner city and the other in the country. The stories they have :wow:

If a teacher sees a kid with promise, trust, they work with them. They see a parent that takes time with a kid and gets involved, they get involved.

Mufukkaz won't show up to any school PTA meetings and shyt, but break their necks to be at the football/basketball games. :beli:

The parents are the problem

Daddies not around
Mothers too busy trying to find replacement daddies and calling Kendra G

And when your environment is constantly rap music blasting everywhere, the majority of videos on YouTube are nikkas acting goofy, old ass gang members bragging about their jail time and who run the streets and Rappers who actually live in the suburbs now and telling they own kids to get a education, while they rapping about how hood they are and how they in the streets every day, these kids has no chance

I keep saying it. Pick your partner carefully. It's this way because smart people favored making relationships and kids with other smart people for generations.

If someone chooses a partner because they're attractive yet happen to be an airhead, their kid is cooked. That's why America looks the way it does. There are a lot of good-looking people, but a lot of really fukking dumb people who get mentally outclassed by kids who have two Engineers as parents.

Someone's wife looks great with a figure 8 body, but is dumb and they have sons. Now what? Your son has a figure 8 body while someone else's son is a genius. That's how you lose a generation and fall behind exponentially.
I think its a little deeper than that. Poorer and uneducated people also tend to have more kids than people that have post high school education. Raising kids in a good environment is expensive especially when you're working a decent job so they tend to avoid having kids. That opening scene on Idiocracy is hilarious but true. The overall country is devaluing education because the people that don't place a heavy emphasis on it are producing a majority of the kids.

That’s a cop out. Schools were underfunded and kids were going to school in run down shacks in the south post slavery. The difference is parents/culture actually valued education.

Funding isn’t going to change anything if they’re being raised by social media in a chaotic household.
My old employer used to have a program to mentor at these underperforming schools. You take these students out of these terrible schools and they almost always do better elsewhere.

mufukkaz definitely need to stop bringing kids into a world/situations where they cannot afford them. It's selfish as fukk, especially nowadays.

My father taught me how to read. Maybe other Black parents might wanna do the same. Thats all I got for ya :manny:

:dead:

:salute: your dad tho.

But we (black americans) definitely have a culture issue where we don't show that we value education as much. We don't get the benefit of the doubt that poorly educated cacs get so we have to be better whether we like it or not. But culturally a shift needs to happen. Sadly in this day and age of the internet and attention whoring, it's getting worse. Much worse.

My son just turned two. Having a wife that's a teacher is a cheat code. I value her so much.

Every morning she gets him out the crib, he picks a book, and climbs into bed to read it with me. We read all the time. Before bed, first thing in the morning, during the day. All sorts of books.

Right.

It also means the people who make good decisions are astronomically far ahead.

Someone making an incredibly dumb decision makes the other person who makes a smart decision exponentially rewarded.

Like seriously, someone who's not-so-bright decides to make a child with another moron/airhead.

Now compare that to an Engineer who has a child with another Engineer.

The latter household can teach their kids all types of ways to attack Math and Science problems while their kids have a high-aptitude for it. Meanwhile the former kid has to learn all their math and science lessons from a teacher who barely passed basic math themselves while the child already has a low aptitude for it.

Socially, Black American's aren't dealing with enough to neglect a basic education. We aren't talking about Calculus 2 here, these kids can't even read the very basics. That's not systematic racism, that's a home and cultural issue.

Poor parents can have smart, highly successful kids, it happens all the time. Funding won't fix the issue. It starts with the culture and the hunger for education.
Systematic racism has produced the home and cultural issues we see today. The cure for ignorance is education. But if the ignorant don't guide their children to the cure then how are we supposed to defeat ignorance? This is a multifaceted issue and also a reason why individual based capitalist mindset doesn't work for black people. We need to come together and live multigenerational in a single household and build up but people aren't willing to do that.

Aye, I ain't never heard my parents make no excuses. They went out there and busted their ass to make sure I was straight. Like they told me "we work to take care of us. YOUR job is to go to school and do well at it".

Guess who doesn't make excuses now and doesn't let their kids make excuses?

We don't fail be cause we call out systemic racism, we fail because we don't care to teach our children.

A parent that speaks on racism/white supremacy is likely reading to their kids and takes their child's education seriously like my parents.

Y'all bring up funds, but 1)You can't just throw money at this problem 2)Poor people from other countries come over and succeed. I'm willing to bet our reading and math levels where higher when we fought to get access to schools compared to now.

It starts from the home. You can be rich, but your kids can still be ignorant and dumb.
Nah, they need the funds. They just also needs to actually be spent on the kids

Even if they aren't misappropriated, sometimes the funds just sit there and go unspent, so the school gets less funding the next fiscal year

Which sucks cause it causes folks like you to think the funding don't work when it's a whole other issue.

I've walked through schools where the bathroom walls are caving in. Yes, they need the money and it ain't ever enough of it :gucci:

No it hasn't. Are you black? Do you hang around black people? The black people I hang around aren't ghetto, loud, and ignorant. I've met a lot of black folks who were good people.

Ignorance and stupidity is a choice.
