It's what separates the wire from the rest, the dialog , those quoatables, and honestly the fact most the staff were just regulars who couldn't act well, but that's what made the characters so relatable and what mad the police so familiar.

Its cool and all that, but theyre only upscales. IIRC only season 4 and 5 was shot to where it can be properly be transferred to an HD format. I may be wrong and it may have been none at all, but if you have a modern blu ray player that upscales dvds, you're not missing much and youll get the same quality if you watch dvds of seasons 1-3 on a bluray player that upscales

Just started season 4. So far it's in the running for my top 5 shows but somebody from season 2 better make a big impact on the main story soon or I'm gonna be forced to knock this off the list for having a full season of filler

There's alot from Season 2 that's resolved in season 3
re-watching season 3 now you can tell the writers were giving fan service for season 2's slow pace because the first episode was fast paced and alot of hood shyt going on before they dive in the politics part.
