Re-watching The Wire in HD appreciation thread

show is so excellent and im still picking up in character moments that i didnt notice
This is probably my 7th rewatch of the series

No show in the history of TV is as good as The Wire is on that front. The "picking up shyt I didn't notice in the last rewatch " sentiment is universally held from what I've seen. So dense, so many layers, so many ways to actually enjoy it.

And the dark comedy is severely underappreciated.

I just hate Ziggy so much he brings the show quality down but at least the buildup that concludes in season 3 makes it watchable

Season 2 is awesome just like the rest of the series. People get mad they stopped focusing on the hoodtales, just consider it world building . Ziggy was a fukking scumbag, but I can't say there aren't people out there just like him in real life. That Toyota commercial that played in the Super Bowl that reunited Frank, Nick, and Ziggy had me

I also don't think the serial killer shyt in season 5 is that farfetched - as outlandish as it was they went about it in a realistic way

I hated season 2 on initial viewing just because it was such a drastic departure from season 1. I was binging it to catch up and even hit my cousin up asking if it was still worth watching past season 2. I was pissed though when the sorry b*stard says to keep watching until Stringer gets killed.
