1. MNIMN is loaded with big names because it was a major label album and push’s first album. The biggest names on there is chris brown and pharrell, who every rapper has a song with them, even earl sweatshirt has a pharrell beat, does that song sound mainstream? Oh ok

2. I mentioned coke to say push always stayed in his lane. Even with big names he was still in his coke lyricist bag. He never changed his shyt just to have mainstream success.

3. A jay verse in 2016 doesnt mean he was tryna be mainstream. Nothing about drug dealers anonymous sounds mainstream. It doesnt even have a hook. Neck & wrist def aint a mainstream sounding song. That was a huge reach on your part

4. All those songs you named all had hooks and mainstream intentions. They were all pushed by the label to top the billboard charts. The only push songs you can say had mainstream intentions were from his first album like I said before.

I said all I had to say. Nobody considers push a mainstream artist and you know that bruh you just wanna argue

1. This is Exhibit A of how Push underachieved. Major label debut full of big name features and producers, but it doesn't do well given the hype, star power features, and production.

2. There's artist who never changed to go mainstream and still fared better than Pusha T with less.

3. It's still a Jay Z feature.

4. Breh, Pusha's music is pushed and promoted by a label with mainstream intentions. Push is not some undergorund artist. He's signed to G.O.O.D Music/Def Jam and has been since his debut dropped.

No he hasn't. Out of Pusha's entire career, he has ONE gold album (with Clipse) and ONE gold single. Any other artist would be a flop with those stats especially when you had the biggest producers in music helming the albums.

Pusha T has not had a better career by any stretch if the imagination compared to 2Chainz.
Pusha T last album sold more than this 2chainz and Lil Wayne collab :mjlol:

God damn you cats love to argue.

Me, personally....and I've said this on here before....I don't even think Pusha T should be as successful as he is.

Man has rapped about cocaine exclusively for 20+ years. Despite that, he's done jingles for McDonald's, Arby's, has a contract with Adidas, and has now branched off into medical transport.

If you're telling me this is the level of success you expected for an early 00's coke rapper....stop lying. Respectfully, stop lying.

Yes, it would be expected because he was signed to The Neptunes first and foremost. It wasn't a shocker that he wrote a Mcdonalds jingle that was produced by The Neptunes and he'd previously collaborated with Justin Timberlake on "Like I Love You". On top of all this, he was also signed to Kanye as a solo artist and had albums helmed or produced by Kanye, beat Drake, etc. Any other MC in his position would be called a FLOP. This is why he underachieved.

Push has performed at Coachella, Governor's Ball, Lollapalooza and many notabke overseas festivals this year alone and some are still trying to say he has underachieved.
All to parrot the sentiment of one guy who's only metric is mainstream appeal as the defining measure.
It makes literally no sense.
Is this all you got?
Aaaaaannnnd Drake still lost to him
No he didn’t

I disagree. The Clipse had a nice run but Pusha T is a rapper's rapper. He always had a somewhat insular fanbase but they are loyal. The fact of the matter is regardless of financial success Pusha T will go down as a respected lyricist who built a nice discography.

Come to think of it you can make an argument he overachieved.

1. Push didn’t underachieve with MNIMN tho. If im not mistaken he sold the same as big sean that year lol

2. Name those artists

3. So? Jay elect had a whole album with hov does that mean he was chasing mainstream success? No

4. Not really lol. Push didnt get pushed nearly as much as dudes he was signed with. Cudi and sean were bigger artists but couldnt maintain their status like push did and now he outselling them. But yet push is the one that underachieved smh

All the autotune music you hear was initially and largely funded by grand hustle artist. Or someone using amenities or resources related to grand hustle.

For every pioneer of this genre of music. That is a far cry from cher and Madonna using autotune. Is Influenced or was around a heavily resourced grand hustle artist movement.
Only other camp is dungeon family and after the artist who made creatine who coined trap as this thing on record first. Plus future. The main company and artist led label was ti's grand hustle.

All the records made in the genre.
lift from an obscure grand hustle artists like rich kids to Yung la or dro. or racks by future.
Where future is known in the genre after grand hustle.
Already made significant grassroots claims to this direction.

So after weezy prostitute flange.

this genre is grand hustle's hustle.

Naw O.G we rejecting that deposit
Auto tune is T-Pain at the helm

Snoop was the first rapper to have a hit won’t auto tune with sexual seduction.

Weezy and Ye got put on by Pain.

Atl took it to a next level who in grand hustle was using auto tune or wasn’t no Yung LA. and Future closer to Rocko and Gucci.

I know who coined actually coined trap t.I “Trademarked” the term I’m talking about the actual sound.
