There was a football triple header on last year too.

It's more like stars sitting out affect the ratings.

Lack of star power, superteams, cable etc.

nobody is rushing home to watch Jokic, Giannis, and Embid play.

People always talk about the 90s.. hell, we can go back 10 years ago when the NBA was on fire... had Kobe's Lakers, Big 3 in Miami, D-Rose, Melo in NYC, Boston's Big 3, LOB City, Spurs, Mavs, OKC's big 3 etc.. there was star power, drama, storylines etc.

Of course we watch football but, it's not as popular culturally.

The NFL lost a percentage, not a big percentage but still in all a percent of Black fans over the years, especially in between and after the Kaepernick saga.

The NFL may have a majority Black league but culturally they're synonymous with whiteness.
Imagine saying this when black QBs are leading the league now :heh:

49ers..Braves..Celtics
The coli itself don't even participate in threads about the NBA as much as they do the NFL! :mjlol:

I pointed that out the other day. The 49ers-Ravens thread had 10x the replies of the Lakers-Celtics thread. The other NBA games didn't even have their own threads.

Posters on here cappin like a muthafukka...

You can blame free agency for this too.

NBA should be trying to push that young Grizz team. Casuals don't know SGA and Chet etc. But they should. They are fun to watch.

The NBA is marketed as a star-driven league. SGA and Chet aren't captivating enough on a night to night basis to qualify as must see stars. Oddly enough, Luka is somebody that could be qualified as a must see star, since he drops 40+ on the regular with triple doubles to boot. The thing that hurts him (and Giannis, Jokic, Embid) is that he's a foreign born star. US audiences don't usually get behind foreign born stars like that. If Luka was born in the US, he would have enough flair, swagger and charisma to actually be a star that the league could get behind.

Ja & Zion are fukk ups, and they've probably cost themselves that he got next mantle. Ja might be able to still pull in the casuals, but Zion is a hopless fat ass, who would rather eat and fukk his way out of league stardom literally.

You haven't been watching SGA to say that. He's been incredible to watch the past two seasons.
