Didn't go to A&T, but very familiar with the school/campus/etc. Will try to send my daughter there in the future. They really poured into the campus in the 2010s to solidfy it as the premier HBCU. (Example: Look at Aggie Stadium and Student Center in the past and compare to them currently)
Some personal interactions with A&T
  • GHOE is legit. Had a great time the first and last time I went.
  • First chick I hollered at while in college went to NCAT (she was decent, short, extremely thin and bougie); she wanted to cheat on her bf, but I didn't get caught up in her mess and fell back from her. She eventually married her bf after they broke up and got back together for the next 8 years.
  • One of my best friends used to date Ronald Mcnair's daughter.
  • The Key Resource Real Estate Investing -- One of my good friend's personal website on real estate. She's a NCAT alum
  • Friends from NCAT introduced me to Seven Springs Farm and Vineyard (Black owned) in NC; would suggest going to their events if you're 35+ and in the NC or VA area.
  • The prettiest chick I ever dated went to NCAT; Sadly, found out she was legit crazy and had to bush her. Told that story on here before. Have not found another woman I've connected with on the level I have with her since though.

cool thread topic OP… Definitely one of the better schools / HBCUs and it’s public with a good size student population .. I never got to visit their campus tho.

not trying to be that guy, but I notice a lot of universities (not all, but some) are by bad areas, I never understood that. I know mine was/is (wasn't a HBCU)

True..I think I remember hearing USC is in the hood in LA…Georgia Tech was right across the street from the Techwood Homes projects & it was the murder capital of Atlanta back in the day..I think LSU is in a sketchy area.

Just seems more pronounced at HBCUs though

My brother went to a PWI, Mississippi State. That school is in a bad area that is surrounded by gang activity. We went to his graduation, and some of my bougie family couldn’t wait to get up outta there.

I don't want/expect people to rate based on women but if you know HBCUs, 1) cheerleaders and bands are integral part of the culture, performances but most other schools (PWI) to shame and 2) it would be a damn lie to state the campus beauty isn't a benefit at HBCUs
ehh, still not helpful. would be nice to see the majors/programs that are their strengths, starting salaries, industries grads go into, avg debt upon graduation or avg aid package, etc. all that stuff that's going to contribute to the success of someone graduating from the school.

anyway, i voted just based on general rep of the school, i'd put it as an 8, still a tier below howard, spelman (10), morehouse (9), hampton, a&t (8)

USC close to Harlem 30 Crip, ATC, FTB and Rollin 20/Black P Stone (Bity Hood) University recently bought up some buildings and pushed FTB into 20 hood. Yup about LSU, wild about Georgia Tech.

@BigAggieLean. @Yagirlcheatinonus @Ghost Utmost

I gotta laugh about the stories of NCAT from alums vs. Greensboro residents

Alums: friction with locals and parties etc. :francis:

Greensboro dudes: partied at NCAT, fukked some Aggie chicks :ehh:
Like I said earlier I was always at the commons. I didn’t go to college right away I just moved there after high school got a job had my lil apartment. True story I had a Kawasaki 400 at 20 years old. I used to ride through on the campus pulling chicks with ease like “get on my bike”. And most of them would.

Man, late spring and those summer months when classes resumed, were prime time to see brehs with bikes on campus; especially on the strip right in front of the student union. And yes, most of the dudes out there on the bikes was Greensboro natives or those who didn’t go to T.

I guess, the overall community involvement, is part of what makes A&T, A&T. GHOE, while being an A&T celebration, is also a Greensboro/Triad area celebration. The whole city and surrounding area turns out. So, yes, while I sometimes had issues with native Greensboro folk, I also met and appreciated everyone in the city. I’m from the area, lol. As a teen, I used to hit up WSSUs homecoming. I even used to hit my uncle up when Central had theirs, and go out with him.

The 2000s were good times in the Triad. When they canceled Superjam it kind of hurt my heart. But it was like ok I’m getting too old for this anyway.

Good points. I actually found another database at the Department of Education with more info and updated the profile with the below:

Median Debt After Graduation: $27,000
Median Earning 10-Years after 10 years from freshman year: $41,157
Median Earnings for specific majors after 3 years after graduation: Mechanical Engineering ($72,152), Industrial Engineering ($71,300), Chemical Engineering ($68,594), Accounting ($56,806), Electrical Engineering ($56,343), Business Administration ($49,101)

Being in the Hampton University band, I visited this school a few times (Dr. Jones, who is the marching band director taught here and got a degree from here iirc), beautiful football field and band. If I didn't know to HU and knew what I did now, I'd probably had went here. I still have yet experienced GHOE and Im jealous I can't roam around being single like I used to :damn:

10/10. My Alma Mater. So many good times. A lot of points have already been made but I'd add the school has several Masters and PHD programs which also elevate it above a lot of HBCUs.
