Fantastic university that has done a lot of good for my family in N.C. A lot of great companies recruit there and it’s facilities are respectable. Has a great pipeline to Duke energy, and the Charlotte hornets (shoutout to MJ) and overall one of the best HBCU’s in the country (probably the best in the south…. No offense to FAMU)

Ton of NCAT alum in Atlanta & they’re very supportive of their school. I’ve never been on their campus but I always hear great things about it & the school.

My only issue with NCAT is then leaving the MEAC, but other than that, they’re cool. I have an old student there completing their degree matter of fact.

Was number 2 on my list behind Jackson State. Had a cousin that tried to get me come up with her. My mom was too overprotective though (currently in my early 30s now so I completely understand her now more than I did at 17 and don't blame her at all)

Often wonder what could've been but I ultimately made the right choice for me.

Still 9/10.

Bruh how did they become your #2? Was their band a factor?

I only went to Bama State cause I was a music Ed major at the time..I wanted to go to FAMU cause we played their music & both of my HS directors were FAM grads, but after I discovered the SWAC, I didn’t have any interest in any MEAC schools.

Doesn’t have the name recognition of Morehouse or Spelman but it’s the best HBCU

Edit: I’d only dock a point for location (it’s surrounded by the hood by Greensboro standards, but many HBCUs are)

Bruh at Alabama State, as soon as you went out the main gate, you were in the Paterson Court projects. In Atlanta, the Clark, Morehouse, Spelman & Morris Brown are right next to the projects as well. I always found that crazy..back when they allowed blacks to start our own schools they gave us the worst land..same places states put public housing complexes.

NC State and Mississippi State were the other colleges I was interested in, and applied to, but I always knew I’d go to A&T. My parents used to take me on campus any chance they got, and I can remember at 9 or 10 telling my dad I wanted to be a chemical engineer. He would always say I’d go to MIT, but we both knew I was gone follow in his footsteps and go to A&T.

My little girl been going back to homecomings since she was 2, and screaming Aggie Pride since then. Both her mom and I are alum, so we take her up there quite often. It made me smile when she told me she wanted to be an engineer and go to A&T “like daddy and mommy”

Lived in Greensboro from 2005-2013. Didn’t attend this college but been to “the commons” too many times. Always attended GHOE. The thing that I always noticed about the alumni they’ll let you know they an Aggie. They quick to scream “Aggie Pride”. I think the school can be known more for their homecomings and partying but people ignore the fact a lot of black engineers come out of that place which is dope. I smashed a few Aggie broads during my time in Greensboro.

Shout outs to Brad Holmes, GM of the Detroit Lions who is looking like one of the best executives in the NFL. He's an NC A&T alum. Drafted an HBCU player in the most recent draft, from Jackson State, who now leads all rookies in sacks and looks amazing. He also invited A&T's band to perform at halftime at a Lions game this year.

Yup. I always noticed most of our schools are in areas like that. Definitely did it by design.

It can takeaway from the experience because you can become a target any time you step off campus and parties bring a different element.
