Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
I have always been surprised by how small the actual cities are in jersey but how big north jersey is. You can literally pass thru all the big cities on the NJ turnpike and never realize NJ is dope.

on another note the Delaware Water Gap on I-80 is one of the most beautiful roadways in America

I wouldn’t mind moving to the area

NJ is the most incorrectly stereotyped state.

granted ironically the I-95 passes through all those nuclear power plants and makes it seem like a lot of Jersey is like that. M

Jersey is a rich state.

I lowkey love it. No fukking left turns on major roads, so many distinct vibes, Wawa’s, White Castle

Great amusement parks too

Above the fray.
When I lived in New York, I wasn’t able to make it over to Newark but a buddy of mine from Boston just opened a business there.

Trying to do his part in improving the community.

Congrats to your bud. I thought I recognized Sharpe James' son in the photo, and it's him.

All things considered, I have love for that city. I didn't learn or appreciate the history until after leaving it. Strong activist and arts community, and rich history there.

formerly called Southside, I think Malcolm X Shabazz high was one of the first, if not the first, public schools in America renamed after the slain leader. And I bet it was a controversial move at the time.

Last team to win the Negro Leagues World Series before integration of MLB began. Also, the wife of the team owner was the first women elected to the baseball hall of fame

==========

When I learned more about the history, it was actually sad to know how much it had declined. Weeqhahic (everybody pronounces it week-way) was once one of the top neighborhoods to live in the state. The architecture sets it apart from the rest of the city. That area is coming back though.
