I’ve been here for a few days and I think it’s beautiful. From what I’ve been told by family friends who live here is it’d be perfect for someone in my position(early thirties, sbo, single and focused on quality over quantity). I see how my current business and also the businesses I’m going to build in the next few years can thrive here. I love how it’s a relatively large city with a suburban feel. I’d have to have feet on ground for longer than a few days to say this for certain but it seems like a great place raise a family... With that said I haven’t seen one fine woman here.:why:

My people here keep telling me that the city is teeming with beautiful, 20-30 somethings. Who range from professional to artsy but I haven’t seen the proof.

granted as my play cousin said “nikka, half of these women got masks on, don’t let corona make you miss out on what’s here:martin:

Are there any CLT residents here that can back this up?

I stayed in University City when I lived there. The women were bad out there, but I was also in college so my views may be skewed.

Yeah, when I was younger I definitely had different standards. The reason I’m not taking my play fams word is because of the gap in our standards.

I’ve gotten a good enough feeling here that I’m still gonna make several trips back to explore until I think I have all my answers but getting more confirmation will expedite my exploration process.

What part of town you live?

I'm currently living in Raleigh but I'm a former resident of Nations Ford in South Charlotte and I was just back in Clt about two weeks ago, and eventually I want to settle and plant roots in Clt...

Bruh there's so many gorgeous women there, it's ridiculous. I guess your frame of reference also matters, where did you move from?

It's a fantastic city, Top 20 in the US and an outstanding place for both singles and families. I got soooooo much p*ssy out there lol. Its mad business friendly, one of the best place for black people among large US cities, and despite recent events is hella safe----->Clt is big enough that the really dangerous areas are relatively few and easy to avoid, but this is also largely dependent on frame of reference. I'm originally from California and lived in Virginia and other places, crime and poverty get a whole lot worse than what you get in Clt. It's a fantastic city and I hate when cats gas the crime in Clt because it has so much going on and the wild areas are wild but easy to avoid...

One of my favorite cities period, good luck on your new journey there!

No, I haven't moved here I've just been in town for a few days with family friends. They live in Cotswold. Were going to someplace called Cherry today that's supposed to be a little rough and then to uptown. I relocated to Savannah, which is close to my hometown but I've been living up and down the west coast for the past decade. I thought I was going back to Seattle or LA when I saved enough to have a year of cushion but I didn't realize how much I missed being surrounded by black folks. So I've been researching and exploring new city options. I've scouted Tampa, Cincinnati, Dallas, Atlanta, and now CTL. I used to live in ATL and loved it but I'm older and have slowed down quite a bit and I don't think it's for me anymore. I didn't really dig the other cities either. So CTL is winning right now off of vibe alone. Chicago and DC are still on the list of potentials although because of how cold it gets in CHI it’d have to blow me away for it to stay in the running. I'll make my decision by the end of this year and I'll move next year 2nd-3rd quarter.

Appreciate it and thanks for the feedback.

Charlotte is dope. I honestly wanted to move back to LA and if I ever get really well off I probably will, but I'm in a place right now where my daughters are in NC and are going to be here, and I prioritize proximity to my children over anything else right now. My girls are 3 and 1.5, maybe when they get into preteen age or older...

If I could live anywhere for me it would be splitting my time between Virginia Beach and Los Angeles, that's my American Dream. But Charlotte is probably my next favorite city after that, I'd be more than willing to put roots there...

Cotswold, I saw some advertisements for that neighborhood. I tried to get around to see when we were there but we were so busy. I saw that the houses look like southern cottages.

How is it?

Also, I saw some cribs in Cherry that were down right beautiful didn’t realize it was deemed a rough area.

This shyt is nice!

My play cousin reminds me of DayDay from Next Friday in personality and the situation he's in. So he might be putting extras on Cherry being rough but if it's lower middle class there it probably would be considered rough to most residents here. I'll know for sure later today.

I'll tell you right now, Charlotte has few actual ghettos. Most of the rough areas and lower middle class, but that's a Carolina thing I never really seen anywhere else. None of the big cities in NC ir SC have more than a handful of actual ghettos, they all have a number of rough, lower middle class areas....

Even still the rough areas are easy to avoid, Clt is big enough that you'll never see them if you don't want to and if you do live in one rougher area, you'll be okay if you know how to move. It ain't a city where cats are dying every day and there's just random violence all over the place...

That's definitely a perk considering I'm making my next move with my future family in mind.

Right, that is what I noticed when I was down there. Plus, coming from Detroit where the ghettos are crystal clear and in your face. It’s a big difference...the hoods I saw down there looked like the better areas of Detroit.

As far as, the random violence occurring frequently, that’s the main reason I want to get away from Detroit, it just feel like you can be a victim too easy here. Just on some walking down the street and some crazy shyt jumped off and you can be caught in the middle.
