Its clear as day if you dont got one star your franchise wont do shyt. Why fire nick nurse? Just tank and get players.

Nick Nurse has also publicly thrown management and the team under the bus many times. In public, in his book.

The tank is the clearest path but also ownership wanted the revenue for the playoffs these last two seasons...which was dumb. They traded 12 spots down for a washed Thad Young last year when they could've drafted Walker Kessler which would've solved their need for a defensive center without trading a lottery pick next year. Masai has made some horrible decisions post-Kawhi.

OG has a year left on his deal same with pascal

im all in for embracing the tank

Did you hear Masai's presser they aint tanking, they might move the chairs a bit but theyre not selling off...They cant theyre selling tickets at 200% the league average, they cant charge ppl 500 a seat and put out a lottery team....Yes the team was bad this year but theyre gonna try to win next year and be in the playoffs...All you had to do was listen to his key words...he said he has confidence in the core...

Teams caving to public pressure. Sad.

Coaches like Rudy T, George Karl, bill cowher, etc coached for YEARS without a first or 2nd chip. Teams embraced stability. Now you can win a chip and if you not hot in 3 years you fired. It makes no sense.

They’d be better off tinkering with this core and building it up. Especially in this era where any star could be had for some first round picks. They could easily make a run at somebody like Beal or tear young.

They have no easy course to tank they have too many pieces so I have no idea what direction they’re trying to go

Tbf There’s no real monkey to get off his back since they haven’t faced each other in 9 years… which was when Kawhi actually “beat” LeBron in the Finals. But since he was still a role player, their 1-1 series head2head probably means nothing to either on any type of oneupsmanship.

That said TOR probably gets to the Finals bare minimum in ‘20. But his knees were too trash to not take a long term deal and everyone knew TOR was on borrowed time with the geriatrics (Lowry, Gasol, Serge).

In hindsight neither LAC nor TOR was the right move for him.
I meant for the Raps to beat Bron for once lol. :mjcry:

Not Kawhi

Vogel is a perfect example. He was tasked with a ridiculous roster construction.

But now, this roster is not only better than last year but also better than the title squad

And I’m pretty sure I’d trust Vogel with this squad more than Ham. Maybe Ham can prove me wrong

Nurse was also an assistant during the Casey years, so he had been on the team for a decade. If players are tuning him out and he's throwing people under the bus in the media and in his own tell-all book, you are left with no choice but to let him go. Masai basically had to do it to save his own ass anyways.
