SMF and LAX to VA and NC
LA has broke 3 acts in the last 5 years. Roddy, Blueface, Shoreline Mafia. Only Roddy is really popping at this point.

If we talking about the new generation of rappers, no LA does not have plenty of rappers. Like the LA poster said the scene is regional as hell now. A guy like G-Perico don’t even do a million views.

Your initial statement was "LA barely has any rappers". You didn't specify the level you were talking about until later posts, your initial post was wrong, bro lol...

At any rate, not to get too tied into semantics, all hip hop scenes are more regional. The limelight has shone back on NYC again, you know theres a new hot city every few years. There's far more rappers at the local level grinding and only known in their city than big names...

To be honest, those of us who are hip hop heads but not plugged into all the new and present trends like myself, haven't heard of alot of these NY rappers (or from anywhere else) if it weren't for this board. I'm not in the clubs and I hang around neither cats under 30 nor the people I surround myself with listen to really young, new rappers. I heard of Pop Smoke on here maybe 4-5 months ago. You posted this Smoove L guy yesterday, I've never heard of him. You've listed several other NY rappers, besides A-Boogie, and he been out for like 4+ years now, I can't really say I know any young or new NY cats...

The only point I'm trying to make, is you could easily say ain't no new rappers outta NY like that. They all more regional than national or global besides a select few...

Yes - there's alliances in LA. He was Crip. But in NY, there's bloods and crips that are not automatic enemies off top, reason why there are woos that are bloods and crips and chos that are bloods and crips. The problem is when the sets break off, as they do almost on a regular basis- dude that you're cool with one day, you can't be good with the next day. It's more territories and blocks than flag waving. The subsets act like playground gangs sometimes smh which is mainly the 18-25 yr olds and they turn on each other.

I have no idea what these young boys are doing. Smh
Who do you think ordered it?

You never listened to dead prez? Dude is a 40 plus vegan conscious rapper. His name been stic since the 90s.

And this is a hip hop site smh
Right. Smh. Dead prez might be the hardest conscious group of all time. There's a reason chapelle used their song as the opening theme of the chapelle show. Stic and M1 gave absolutely no fukks about spitting the truth. They were ahead of their time. A group like dead prez is needed now more than ever. Now they done got families and moved on with their lives while nobody wanted to listen to truth they were telling. They warned everybody what was gonna come. But the music lives forever.

L.A. dudes will pull up on you no matter where you live and where you are in the city. There is no such thing as out of bounds with these dudes and its been that way since the death row days. Thats when the streets started travelling to get at people. heading up to beverly hills studios shooting up the spot, or pull up on people making demands, etc. you use to be able get ya money up, and hide out in the valley or the hills some where. NOPE, not any more. If you're out there selling a dream thats on that street side of things. best believe at some point you will get ran up on and its not because you're in the hood looking like red meat to wolves. They heard your music and they think, I'll make some calls and find out where dude stays.
dudes can get ran up on anywhere in LA.

I tell my brehs from the city that shyt aint all sunshine beautiful bytches and good weed. You can get got in Venice beach just a much as you can south of Wilshire.

But they got reach all.the way out in la?
You know in NY there's nothing but mainly luxury and security buildings that his label or management would get for him. London- the same. But in California, it's more open land and areas- a house with a pool. Not a gated house or secluded location either. The shooters knew what the deal was. He was a sitting target. At 20 yrs old, young dude from BK projects- he's never been in a house like that in his life which is why he was stunting on the gram. They all do it - Look at Jay Critch. For the life of me, I never understand showing off a private residence where you rest your head at. Look at this - same thing. Jay Critch another BK dude who's making it. (But what he fails to realize is that he showed the phone number to the realtor and address of the realtor as they were recording in the first vid).

A lot of security firms in LA have been infiltrated by gangs and street nikkas...

Not to mention the bouncers/security at the clubs who stay lining nikkas up.

LA isn't normal. Gang culture extends beyond the streets..

Pop Smoke Murder Appeared to be Target Hit, Not Robbery

Pop Smoke's death wasn't a robbery gone wrong ... it was a targeted hit ... and that conclusion is supported by surveillance video.

People who have seen the surveillance footage from outside the Hollywood Hills home where Pop was killed Wednesday morning tell us ... you see 4 men approach the home at around 4:30 AM and sneak around back.

A couple minutes pass before 3 of the 4 walk back up the side of the home to the front. The 4th apparently walked in the backdoor but no camera was trained on it. The next time you see the man, he exits through the front door of the house.

As we reported, multiple shots were fired inside the home and they only struck Pop Smoke, who was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

At first, it seemed like it might have been a robbery because the rapper posted a photo earlier in the day of a bunch of gifts ... one of which had his home address emblazoned on it. He also posted another pic hours before the shooting of himself and a friend in a car .. the friend is holding an enormous amount of cash.

But, here's the thing. The folks who have seen the surveillance video tell us the person inside the house -- presumably the shooter -- did not carry anything out. Given that he shot someone, it's doubtful he would take the time to stuff items in his pocket.

Just as I thought, and reading how things went it's a hit.
