LA has broke 3 acts in the last 5 years. Roddy, Blueface, Shoreline Mafia. Only Roddy is really popping at this point.
If we talking about the new generation of rappers, no LA does not have plenty of rappers. Like the LA poster said the scene is regional as hell now. A guy like G-Perico don’t even do a million views.
Your initial statement was "LA barely has any rappers". You didn't specify the level you were talking about until later posts, your initial post was wrong, bro lol...
At any rate, not to get too tied into semantics, all hip hop scenes are more regional. The limelight has shone back on NYC again, you know theres a new hot city every few years. There's far more rappers at the local level grinding and only known in their city than big names...
To be honest, those of us who are hip hop heads but not plugged into all the new and present trends like myself, haven't heard of alot of these NY rappers (or from anywhere else) if it weren't for this board. I'm not in the clubs and I hang around neither cats under 30 nor the people I surround myself with listen to really young, new rappers. I heard of Pop Smoke on here maybe 4-5 months ago. You posted this Smoove L guy yesterday, I've never heard of him. You've listed several other NY rappers, besides A-Boogie, and he been out for like 4+ years now, I can't really say I know any young or new NY cats...
The only point I'm trying to make, is you could easily say ain't no new rappers outta NY like that. They all more regional than national or global besides a select few...
