Good for them, but after hearing Issa Rae on Drink Champs I knew it was coming. She in a good spot with HBO and if they cancel or reject any of her shows she has it to where she can take them to another network but we know HBO isn’t about to let another network eat off Issa

I enjoyed season one, I hope they get more than 8 episodes for season 2

Like Insecure, the cinematography and the music is on point. Love Miami as the back drop. I also love how they incorporate smart phones and social media on show. Issa Rae is on point depicting our modern world. She’s the only that does it really well.

Y'all think Shawna not having a Miami accent was intentional or not? It kind of takes me out of the show at times. Mia's scenes feel much more authentic.

I thought it was interesting, in some ways, how Mia talked about the "sponsor", as in she was surprised he didn't have feelings for her, when she clearly didn't? And always, always positions herself as a player, "seducing and scheming".

I am sure the show is not really intentionally touching on this, from what I see, but the fact that the methods and means , the equation, of her NY sponsor (and any sponsor really) are so close to approved and endorsed "mating rituals", plane ticket +dinner +shopping +hotel =sex there is room for confusion on both sides. Though clearly both people are under no illusion about what they are doing, Mia and NY guy.
