Bleed The Freak
Superstar
This is the STP that sounded different that folks really loved.
Primus and Tool are both what I would consider Prog with Heavy Metal elements. I guess Progressive Metal fits them. Garbage…. Never got into them, but they definitely aren’t grunge. They get maad play on Lithium too I dont know if Rock is the 'proper' Genre to place em(especially Primus)

I got a sweet spot for STP, but gonna go with Soundgarden then AIC then Pearl Jam.
Ironically I enjoy Nirvana the least
I read about Layne years ago, that heroin had him in a choke hold. He started wearing long sleeves, big clothes to cover his weight loss. He stayed inside his house for weeks, basically went missing and people stopped hearing from him. At some point his band members just "let go" of him until he decided he needed help (which never came). Eventually they shut down the band and stopped touring and making appearances because they started getting questions about his health and it was a bad look overall. I heard about how when they found him he was on his sofa and had been playing Nintendo, they found him like a week later and his body was down to like 80lbs. They even said his body was glued to the sofa it had decayed so much.Pearl Jam is my favorite band of all time but AIC had the best singer (tied with Chris) and guitarist.
I know a few people that knew Layne towards the end. They said he was DOWN BAD on the boy. No teeth, missing a finger all that, like 100 lbs.
Lowkey the only difference between Layne’s sad end and Kurt Cobain’s cemented legacy is a shotgun

I’m a Tool-head, breh. I’d never speak ill of Maynard and the gang.
I first heard The Stooges when I got my first fuzz pedal years ago, I was looking up albums that featured fuzz and came across their album from 1969. I was very surprised they had all the elements of alternative rock and grunge.Nirvana did not invent the genre
You can go back to Green River, Screaming Trees, Killing Joke (who they ripped off Come As You Are) or The Pixies. If you want to keep it a buck it really all started with The Stooges. Raw Power is a 20 year older version of Nevermind
Soundgarden had a record deal five, six years before Nirvana
