Mudiay>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Russell

Nah. Russell is showing growth with in the flow of the game. He's not forcing it and will continue to improve. His usage rate is very low for a starting point and a number 2 pick. Mudiay is just more nba ready right now but he is a turnover machine.

Russell needs a real point guard to mentor him like maybe a sam Cassell or andre miller. He got way 2 much size, vision a good jump shot not 2 be posting guards up.

The media slurping and coli slurping of emmanuel mudiay is crazy. Outside of one game hes been playing poorly but its being put out there that hes killing the league. Pretty sure hes leading the league and turnovers and has shot poorly. Now im not the one to be overly critical of rookies but this headline makes me question what people are watching

Emmanuel Mudiay showed the Lakers he's a true point guard

Read the article, no mention of him leading the game in turnovers or not making a fg into deep in the third. I would think since the article is about scott questioning him as a true point leading the game and every game hes played in turnovers would be in the convo.

I do like mudiay's game and do think the turnovers will come down. Im just saying

Regardless of the preseason setback, when you had a much talked about healthy summer (first since your mvp campaign) that you spent allegedly working on your game and being neck n neck with Westbrook in all things bball and explosiveness... these 4 and 5 point games are a bit disappointing to see outta D Rose.

Last year he seemed like he was pacing himself out of precaution but couldn't find that perfect balance, so he went from great to dud game to game. With that theory, he should beast tomorrow night against OKC.

But even if he does, the larger issue is that he's got a superstar contract, not a pat beverly contract. So at some point he's gotta have a night in, night out accountability to at least the Mike Conley and Kyle Lowry ballpark of expectations... if the Curry/Russ/CP3 level is no longer attainable.

If that doesn't happen by x-mas time, then i dunno... shame, bc he's one of my fav players and i've been rooting for him to get it all back.

the rebuild stage ended when gasol got the contract. I'm interested in missing the playoffs and actually getting some good players.
Sorry to hear that breh, i remember we talked about it during the playoffs. Conley was the only one worth keeping if it came down to it, IMO. At this point, early failure is probably the best option to expedite the retool.

it's more about the skill set, talent and not being afraid to drive and make something happen than putting up good numbers right now. mudiay is explosive, fast first step and can create plays and he's just a rookie. once he gets a better grasp of the game then things will slow down for him and when he develops that jumper he's gonna beast. I think he'll be an upgrade over Lawson by the end of the season, but how high is his ceiling we'll have to wait and see. he has to learn to read defenses and work on his vision/passing to find the open man or cutter or he'll end up being a monta ellis type player, when he has the talent to be an elite PG in the league.

like @Malta said, deangelo will come off a screen slow and dribble to the top of the key or elbow and look for a cutter or the open man, but if it's not there then he'll just pull up for a shot or dribble some more. he struggles getting separation right now and can't create his own shot or drive to the basket for the defense to collapse on him/get to the line. he's only been to the FT line 2 times so far :scust:he has his work cut out if he's not gonna be able to drive to the basket.

What growth are y'all nikkas seeing...good lord. D'angela Russell is like Andrew Luck to these cacs...he can do no wrong. :dead:
