Forreal I don't remember Russell being within 15 feet of the basket at all tonight. Good passer goor shooter but can't take anyone off the dribble. The problem with Russell is that he can't get into the lane, when he comes off that pick at the 3 line he doesn't explode out of it like other PGs, he moves in slow motion and the defense is already closing in on him so he takes that jumper from around the elbow. Right now his entire game is based on jumpshooting, I doubt he can finish in the paint that well which is why he avoids trying to go deeper into the lane. Mudiay didn't play great but he was in the lane all game long, which is why he had some turnovers, he would get so far into the paint he'd throw some sloppy shyt back out to the freethrow line or 3 point line.
I don't think Russell is a PG, they'd be better off playing him at the 2 and telling him to look for his own shot first.
Honestly if the lakers want to win 40-45 games this year the line up should be
Clarkson
Lou
Swaggy
Julius
Roy
That team will win 40-45 games.
Towns is MUCH better than AD was as a rookie. It's not even close, Towns is better at every aspect of the game.I don't want to say Anthony Davis wasted his offseason working on the whole outside shooting stuff but next summer he needs to just focus his attention on a back to the basket game. Would've been an opportune time to hit up Duncan and learn from him... could still happen if breh doesn't retire after this year.
That whole stretch 4 stuff is cool if you're a complimentary player and the face up game is of course useful, but if you're the franchise big that the offense has to run through... it's better to have that methodical back down game where everything slows down and everyone has to respond to you b/c you can jump hook em to death.
the rebuild stage ended when gasol got the contract. I'm interested in missing the playoffs and actually getting some good players.Ready to rebuild yet?
“I don’t like to boast, but I am like one of the first guys [in basketball] to embrace the world of timepieces and watches.
