I'm not expecting explosive plays from Russell maybe that's why I don't have a problem with this demeanor thing people are talking about. He's a floor general who is going to pass first. He is often surveying the floor looking for the right read. He really isn't going to force things. I do want him to attack the paint more because I think his speed has been much aligned unnecessarily. It seems more unwillingness to attack which might just be about confidence. I'm not really worried about DLO because I've seen the positive things he can do on the court like last night when he constantly made the right pass. The scoring and other stuff will come but cmon breh just remember he's a rookie and have to be patient. Clarkson looked like trash before he went to the dleague last year so you have to be patient with these guys.
You sound like you're OK with drafting a rotational player with the second overall pick when this was an incredibly deep draft. :wtf:

He wasn't drafted for his athletic ability. He was drafted because of his vision and passing ability plus his ability to score. Even Jerry West mentioned his passing ability. The scoring hasn't come yet but I've seen glimpses of the great vision which is why I'm still optimistic.

Can Andre Drummond be the best center in the NBA though?

Absolutely...

Physically he is just to big and strong for probably 3/4th of the centers in the league...so even with no real back to the basket game if you let him get great post position it is pretty much a wrap for you...

Once he get's just an average back to the basket game he is going to be unstoppable...he is like one level below unstoppable right now...if he get's a real good post game...like...think Al Jefferson...then forget it his point production is only going to be determined by how often you feed him...

And the best thing he got going for him is that he got a coach that already used the same blue print in Orlando...I have no doubts that if Dwight had just stack with Stan he would be a MUCH better offensive post player than he is now...

He wasn't billed as a floor general, he was supposed to be the best offensive wing player in this years draft and a potential superstar.

His problems extend beyond just being a rookie, he's noticeably a step slower than everyone else, and the fact he struggled so much in the NCAA against NBA level defenders may have had some merit to it.

plenty of guards with vision breh :francis: breh is scared to even go into the paint content with bricking jumpers from the elbow, only good passes I saw him do were in transition meanwhile young congo shyt on him. Mudiay may turn the ball over though but he gets into the lane at will and displays superior vision to russell

Sorry to hear that breh, i remember we talked about it during the playoffs. Conley was the only one worth keeping if it came down to it, IMO. At this point, early failure is probably the best option to expedite the retool.
I've never seen a team blatantly self impose their own ceiling. It's chris wallace and his incompetence

Not trading zach and tony for picks, with z-bo's trade being a lottery pick, then re-siging them? Ignoring developing young players since 2009? Trading picks like it's going out of style? His infatuation with players he liked 10 years ago. VC and Matt barnes? what the hell? Not trading koufos to CLE, when we all know he's leaving after the season? Now he's trying to trade for sorry ass mario chalmers?

He lucked his way into building the grit n grind era. He's the worst GM in basketball. He and the stupid grizz fans(the grizzlies fans on this site are cool) are getting what they deserved.

BTW, fukk joerger too. @tremonthustler1 you can have him.

I think a lot of it is confidence to. I forgot what play he made last night but you could see him kind of feel himself some and immediately try to take it to the basket. I don't think he's been playing at top speed but more like somebody going slow trying to figure things out and let the game come to him. I'm not tripping too hard right now but as the season progresses I definitely need to more than I've seen out of him so far. For the one rookie who was supposed to come out with the superstar swagger he's playing with less confidence than any other top 10 pick.
