If you actually look at the on/off data for line-ups Love is in every single one of the Cavs best defensive line ups. They rank in the top 10 in both efficiency and overall rating. The Cavs get 79% of all available defensive rebounds when he's on the floor.

In the the 6 games since Lue has taken over the Cavs are giving up more points at a more efficient clip. Love's individual defensive rating is also like 7 points higher during that 6 game stretch under Lue than it is for the entire season.
fukk the stats tho, anybody who has seen Love play can see that he's a subpar defensive player and has been for his entire career.

What @Gil Scott-Heroin was referring to was that Love/James level of effort varies depending on mood/external motivations and factors.
He's saying Love is trying harder now that Blatt is gone.....on both ends.
And Love has been an average to slightly above average overall defender since January of last year. The data supports it...it's not an opinion.
