My hot take on OKC is related to their defense. They remind me of a full court press college team that wreaks havoc on unprepared opponents then gets exploited in the Tourney by a team with a real point guard.
OKC relies on generating a lot of turnovers. For the season, they average six more shots than their opponents per game and force six more TOs than they have themselves.
As you said, their three point defense isn't good. I think when they get into a series that's game planning for them over the course of two weeks, their defense is gonna get exposed by the absolute best teams in the league.
It should be noted that they are not big on the wings. All their guys are 6'6" or shorter.
If Denver's young players and Gordon are playing their best basketball, they could be a problem for OKC in a series. Especially if they slow it down. All facts. The Dallas Mavericks last year put up a great gameplan against them in the playoffs
They slowed the game all the way down to limit OKC's fast break points. Mavs rebounded well and baited SGA to score 50 every night. It reduced OKC's offense to SGA ISOs and offensive rebounds
But if OKC is playing a Memphis who a insanely turnover prone, forget it. OKC is winning that series in 5 or 6.
