McCollum will need surgery. According to a team release, his prognosis will be made after the procedure, which has not yet been scheduled. The injury is identical to the one McCollum suffered in January, during his senior year at Lehigh. In a game against Virginia Commonwealth, McCollum fractured the exact same fifth metatarsal. McCollum later had surgery, ending his senior year. At the time of the injury, his recovery was estimated at eight to 10 weeks. Oregonian

The Trail Blazers' flurry of injuries turned serious Saturday as rookie CJ McCollum broke his left foot during practice. McCollum, whom the Blazers drafted with the No. 10 pick of June's draft, fractured the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot. He was running the baseline during a scrimmage when he was bowled over by a teammate. The injury was initially called a sprain, but X-rays revealed the break, the team said. Oregonian

:banderas: Evan Turner looking thinner out there (NH) and getting to the line, no more Doug Collins all mid-range shots offense, he is fitting to put up Tony Campbell Timberwolves expansion year numbers on this squad. :russ: Sixers already flopping and blowing leads, getting ready for that tank mission already. :leon: Tony Wroten looking pretty good with minutes out there, looks like a nice defender too.

I hate hearing that CJ got hurt, but on the flip side, it's gonna feel real good not hearing or reading Wolves fans constantly compare Shabazz to CJ like they had every intent on doing.

Yup. You're extremely lucky in that aspect. CJ had a great shot at winning rookie of the year.

Next to Cody, he's probably the only rookie in the top 10 that was going to start from day one.

Oh yeah and Trey Burke :heh:

Remind me to never trust your opinion on basketball.
What Im saying that wrong?

People were talking about how horrible Mark Jackson was until he got to the second round of the playoffs.

Same thing with Spo and Doc Rivers.

There is no wide degree of ability from the best coach to the worst coach in the league.

If you watch a NBA and blame the coach for the outcome. You're a fool
