I have to keep reminding myself that I'm a novice and not to take on too much. Also, factoring in the reminder that I'm severely dyspraxic (google Dyspraxia!) and it's probably best for me to continue a steady and slow progression. Still very :scust: at how weak my upper body is. My lower body is very strong but upper body needs a lot of work.

Should do - I'm a pescetarian (eat fish) and even that I don't eat ALL the time. I assume I can make it up.
:salute: to you for getting your grind on. How do you keep focused?

Honestly? I started going to the gym with my little brother. I'm obsessed with learning about the knowledge behind things, so I researched all kinds of gym routines, nutritional advice and everything to do with fitness for years. But I never consistently worked out and always found it difficult to properly start. My brother on the other hand, does not give a fukk about details, he just wants to go and do stuff. He doesn't have any routines, doesn't know any and just takes action. He'll go and use the machines or someone else will give him a routine. He's the perfect motivator in that regard - you just wanna do stuff. So when he said he wanted me to go gym with him, I had no reason to say no!

Additionally, I just had to do something. I was already weak due to being dyspraxic. It belies my appearance (I'm quite big - 6'2, 200lbs+) but I have no athleticism, extremely poor muscular endurance, big belly and not great cardiovascular health. The hard part for me was just starting it. Since I've started, I'm obsessed. I cannot stop :manny:. They say it takes 21 days to build a habit. So far, I think I've picked up a lifelong one of health. Next stop for me is some form of bodily expression - maybe a sport, martial art or dance, or tricking/parkour even.

Eggs >>>>> supplements

But the fitness world has people so confused that they think need supplements to get big or in shape.

I haven't touched any "supplements", in years(2011) and I'm still in piff shape, if not better.....

I really wish I did more or even some research before I started getting into shape a few years ago. I probably spent over a $1,500 to $2,000 on supps during the first couple years. The only thing I use now is a cheap One A Day multivitamin and I keep some protein powder around for the occassional smoothie.

I mean protein and creatine supplements, generally aren't bad investments, but they're also not necessary, once you reach a certain level of fitness and understanding.

I've been doing machine leg workouts forever and finally decided to do barbell squats and dead lifts for the first time

:dwillhuh::merchant::merchant:

I literally couldn't walk brehs wtf!? I didn't even do as many reps per set as I usually do and used much less weight. I've never experienced that before. I was literally falling all over the place like I was having multiple strokes

This is my new favorite workout brehs :whoo::ohlawd: can't wait to do it again. I want to leave in a wheelchair next time.

That's a good thing, you'll get over the hurdle DOMS(delayed Onset Muscle Syndrome) in no time, and it will all be worth it.
