fukk off dude. I just started working out like 3 weeks ago. And prior to that never worked out. I'm 5'3 115 pounds Not to mention I did 3 sets of 15 reps on the smith machine 60 pounds right before that. I never did free weights before and just started to even do weight squats . So I was just trying to get a feel for it. Don't be an a$$hole. Keep your negativity away from me. And this thread.
Sorry bruh.

Don't squat on the Smith machine.

Why not? I have a bad back and just plan on using the smith machine until I feel comfortable enough doing weight squats and perfecting my form.
Man that shyt is bro science and it is echoed about every machine in the gym

Machines have a valuable place in weight trainer especially for a beginner or loner in the gym

No you wouldn't use a Smith machine to prepare for a weightlifting competition but, no one is here for that

It also takes some pressure off your back.

Until there is some empirical data out there that suggest the Smith machine hurts you in some way

keep doing what you are doing

its common sense to everyone that squats because the smith machine is nothing like a actual squat.
Its not going to make sense to you until you man up and squat.

Once again is there any quantifiable, empirical scientific research or data to back your claim

If it is common sense like to our say the research should be in abundance
