If you wanna be safe then doing squats on the smith machine aint a bad idea. I just personally would feel uncomfortable doing squats on them. But I've seen people doing deads and rows on it which just seems retarded to do.

On another note I just got back from the doctors and thank god I don't have hernia. But honestly at this point I'm just gonna do deads once a week. Not worth the risk as I am going heavier and doing my next lower workout 2 days later isn't giving my lower back enough days to recover. Just gotta figure out a replacement on the 2nd lower day or just take out deads and just do 4 major lifts of power cleans, front squats, lunges and stepups.

It's the limit, for sure. But I'm being so sincere - I've never felt stronger than after doing GVT. And cut the fukk up too. I also bike about 100 miles a week these days. I've never been in better shape all around, not even at my peak of high-level basketball.
you do this while on a cut or bulk?

first leg day on GVT. Hex Bar deficit deadlifts with 225. Ya boy was doing the stanky leg after the 9th set but I got it done. I wasn't as wiped out as I have been though :leon:

I've done rows on them at the very end of upper body day. The assistance helped keep the form strict when I was pretty gassed.

anyone have any suggestions on a workout plan for cutting? just finished an 8 week program, lost 13lbs and need to hop on something new next monday. i was thinking a heavy 3x5 kind of deal but was looking for an outline of a program so i can follow and track progress instead of making my own.

@CrimsonTider If your goal is just to have bigger legs and look better, you can use the smith machine, one of the best body builders of all time didn't even do back squats or flat bench. Dorian Yates did leg press only and fukked with decline/incline bench without flat, you can build muscle any way you please. People harp on the compound lifts too much, the general population are not elite athletes so do whatever works for you and gets the results you want.

If people really wanted to build stabilizer muscles they'd do swimming or get a heavy ass weight vest and go hiking with it.
Yeah; the Hodgetwins have great physiques and they dont squat. In fact, they mostly use machines outside of benching. (They have fukked up backs.)
