You've also assumed I lifting during normal business hours. What happens when it's a holiday or 3 o'clock in the morning? :usure:

@Michael's Black Son Blanket getting his shred on in this motherfukker! :gladbron:

been running since forever but trying to get used to the bike. Can appreciate what Peloton has to offer but no way I’d pay full price for it + subscription. Thankfully one of my peoples lets me use his. Trying to cut a few lbs and train better for fall races and of course avoid injuries. This is a process for sure tho.

@The Butcher For the Lyle McDonald's plan, if I can't finish a full set of unassisted pull-ups (4 x 10) should I work with assisted pull-ups in the interim?

Also, say for BP I do 225 for 3x6, but on the 4th set I only get like 2-3 reps in. Should I drop to like 215 until I can fully do 4x6, or just keep trying on the 225lbs.

EDIT: Just figured out I bought Chicken breasts instead of chicken thighs :mjcry:

:umad:

I keep a spare pair of Beats Studios in my trunk and a pair of PowerBeats in the gym bag. :hubie:

Lost all of my spare headphones. Left my last pair of wired headphones back in the DMV :francis:

Worst case, there’s a target or Best Buy in your local area that’s open til 10pm:hubie:

Went to CVS to get some cheap wired ones....only 9mm jack. This Apple dual charing/headphone connector is such an annoyance :unimpressed:

I have a coworker that wants me to put her on game.

I already know she's not gonna make it, and she hasn't even started yet.

As smart as some of these gals are, it's just too much conditioning for them to overcome:
- you can't spot-reduce shyt without surgery
- lifting weights won't make you "bulky"
- cardio isn't the most efficient way to burn calories
- compound lifts are probably >>> if you're on a time crunch
- training chest/shoulders/back won't make you She-Hulk
- you actually have to eat at a surplus in order to build muscle

She's not gonna make it, but then will probably think that I don't know De Whey. :mjpls:

50 mg of anavar and 10g of clenbuterol a day..... she could worry about the side effects after summer.... :hubie:... since all she probably care about is that "post covid summer bod" and gettin her city girl on..... you right about women tho.... they think 5 reps of a heavy weight and they gonna look like Iris Kyle..... then they get mad when they see you wit a stacked wellness girl... :yeshrug:

Imma be honest, I don't think beginner women should weight train any differently than beginner men. @dora_da_destroyer once brought up the point that women can handle more volume than guys, but that point is moot IMO when talking beginner full-body weight training routines and not intermediate/advanced splits.

Whenever I trained ladies in the gym I always had them do generic noob programs: All Pros, ICF/SL 5x5, etc. I'm of the mindset that until folks can squat, bench, and deadlift basic weights with non-cringeworthy form, all that other shyt (hours of isolation exercises, 50 different machines) is for the birds. fukk you doing 10 sets of kickbacks but can't squat your bodyweight to depth for?
:camby:

Compound lifts move the most weight in the least amount of time. Seeing those numbers go up and seeing the physical changes from compounds should be enough to get them hooked. What the hell is the benefit of hitting a muscle group a day if you're only showing up a few times a week and neglecting the other groups anyways?

Once lifting becomes a habit and they understand basic things like movement patterns, agonist/antagonist muscle groups, creating caloric deficits, etc., my work is done and I leave them be and they can do whatever they want.
