whatever they are for...I feel like im able to lift more than my joints can handle

but you make a good point...outside of DLs pulling exercises are probably my weakest
So I need to work on them more

DLs are a posterior chain exercise, they work the entire back of your body (except calves and triceps really) and core, quads, and biceps, plus strengthen your grip.

Doing them as a means of working your back is misguided, and I personally feel like one of the reasons so many people wind up injured doing them (indirectly).

Just my take. :yeshrug:

fukk THESE LITTLE nikkaS hogging the tools for hours. Tried to do bench press but all of them were taken by some high schoolers. Packs of 3/4 all doing sets one by one :pacspit:

A fleeting childhood
On the fence on if I just went woat tier spotter status on bench

I was asked to spot someone trying to hit 175 for 4 reps. He said he ain’t need help with the push off so I was Ight. Hits the first two reps clean then gets half way up on the third rep and completely stalls out so I’m like ok time to bring the bar up, I touch the bar and help bring it up and Boom he tries for another rep just to stall out at the same spot. He said thank you after I helped him re rack it. On a side note, why did he wear a belt to bench press



It was such a jarring experience I’m not sure if I did something wrong

Had to miss chest day and abs today at the gym so I did 500 pushups from home and 5 minutes of planks (probably gonna do more ab work before the day is over). I dont feel that sore tho, is this a good substitute for an off day?

1) Why did you "have" to miss the gym; 2) Why does your gym have such limited hours?

I "missed" my afternoon workout window because I came home and took a nap; I'm about to head out in a minute.


But nah, not really. A "chest day" would probably have fewer reps overall but more chest isos, and more overall resistance which would pimp your CNS more. I don't feel like doing pushups does much if anything for my bench, but benching does help me do pushups.

I don't think you got any weaker today but wouldn't bet that you got any stronger either.

I wear a belt for heavy bench singles to prepare myself for doing the same in competition. :leostare:


And when I spot a newb I will rerack the bar when I think they're done. :ufdup:
