whatever they are for...I feel like im able to lift more than my joints can handle
but you make a good point...outside of DLs pulling exercises are probably my weakest
So I need to work on them more
DLs are a posterior chain exercise, they work the entire back of your body (except calves and triceps really) and core, quads, and biceps, plus strengthen your grip.
Doing them as a means of working your back is misguided, and I personally feel like one of the reasons so many people wind up injured doing them (indirectly).
Just my take.
