Well damn. I been said you really learn something new every day. Anyway, lemme run the routine for the next 8 weeks and I'll let you know how it's turned out.
A body recomp is about tricking your body into burning fat and building muscle at the same time, right? You're essentially bulking and cutting at the same time.
To do that you have to dial in cardio, lifting, and diet into a sweet-spot that is both anabolic and fat-burning.
Well muscles don't have brains, they don't think, they don't understand reps or body part splits or even exercise selection, they only understand tension.
Conversely, your body doesn't care if you're training a bro split or full body seven times a week when it comes to conditioning, only duration, intensity, frequency, and oxygen consumption.
You could literally use any type of split you wanted to do a recomp, as long as you dial in those three things -
at the same time.
When I did mine in the desert I was working more than I've ever worked in my life (I worked like 60 something days straight, averaging about 10 hours a day) but I:
- had unlimited food (all you can eat)
- was doing 3-4 squares plus snacks and weight gainer (multiple servings)
- had enough chakra to do cardio
- was walking literally everywhere (prolly getting 15-20+k steps a day)
I was doing 2 1/2-3 hour full-body sessions and would sometimes do two-a-days for squats or deadlifts. Brb squatting up to 10x a week with multiple pull sessions and was hitting PRs every week and setting contemporary base gym records.
The absolute last thing that mattered was my split.
Wise with the Force am I.
