I’ll take thoughtful advice from anyone if it’s based on sound principle. His articles have always been on point to me.

As far as physique he’s not a competitor and you can see a lot of his current focus is about creating a foundation to train for longevity. I see people in my gym who have decent builds but have poor form or they are weak. Just depends on what you are looking for.


That’s not his aim I get but he has great form on a lot of exercises . I respect him just saying his body just :ehh:.

How much weight do yall add in a single bulk?

Im down to 180 (im 6 feet). Gonna stay on the cut til mid march where I got a vacation with wifey and gonna start to bulk from then. Im assuming ill be in the mid 170s by then.

Should I bulk to like 190? Or do you just go by feel?

Won't it depend on how much you want to weigh? :dwillhuh: Also depends on how lean you run it. A dirty one where you gain a buncha extra fat won't run as long as a lean bulk phase...

I've also recomped from 205 to 195, and then back up to 205. :smugfavre:

In the sandbox I went from 193 to a high of 213. :jawalrus:


170 @ 6'1" has me looking like Black Skeletor, and I already know 190 ain't shyt at this height (IMO).

Have you ever been 190? Sometimes a weight sounds good but your body can't support it (at least lean) or the extra weight feels terrible. 190 might sound good until it's time to walk the dog/chase the kids/cut the grass, whatever it is that you do and your knees feel shot. Or you hit your target and it's not enough. Then you'd have to reassess.

With that said, pick a target weight and bulk until you hit it. Cut (if necessary) until your body fat percentage is acceptable.

Rinse/repeat until you are content or reach your genetic ceiling.

190 actually the weight I mostly stayed at in my mid 20s. I kinda balooned up to like 250 the past few years and have cut down to this. Last time I weighed this wa probby middle school.


I see your point, yeah I think ima just go up to 190 and evaluate from there wether I can pack on some more or if I should cut back down to 180

For me it's a spiritual thing. Im not religious per se but I meditate and drink only water
I believe in connecting with my ancestors
Im getting back to my intermittent fasting though I like being 260-265 still waiting to see about a fight within next few months. If it don't happen by may then fukk it

Anywhoo just hit 265 ATG for 3 at 148lb and 225 on the front squat feelin damn good today

Might start lookin into that powda :patrice:
