Never said food was inferior to supplements, but a lot of non-"hardgainers" assume someone can simply just eat more in order to gain more. Much easier to drink your cals than to eat them. I'd actually use milk as an alternative to gainers, but milk is less dense and more expensive than a powder. Oatmeal and sammiches also aren't calorically dense, so ole buddy's gonna be eating more food for less benefit or eating some high-calorie processed bullshyt, which is what you cautioned against. (Ex. @African_brehda needs to eat about 4-4.5 cups [dry] of oatmeal to equal his shake.)

But don't let @Art Barr (:pacspit:) hear me say that. (But I don't take advice from old grimy nikkas that don't eem lift so... :manny:)


At the end of the day, I have no dog in this fight. None. I don't make money off real food, supplements, and I don't get paid to give anyone here advice. :yeshrug:

As far as protein the answer is really in the middle. It has its uses for certain and can be really beneficial but also people tend to lean on it regularly too much instead of a good solid whole food meal.

whats the best program for getting back into training? PPL or 5x5? Both seem like good looks given I can’t see myself committing to more than 3 days/wk for strength training just yet.
Any non necroverse answers to this. Ask for a simple way to get strength back and of course he answers with the longer, more involved versions of this stuff. If I wanted to do all that, I’d build my own 4-5 day routine :shaq2:

when i injured both my wrist skating with bruised wrist numerous times over forty now. I still after injury rehab timetable. went back to just lifting 350. The same three fifty I was lifting when i got injured. More than twice tho.
maybe not 350 all around because of wrist pronation and the rehab.
to do that advanced a lift at that my weight immediately. Yet and still i was benching 350 still in my core lift that gawd lift.

so all that all powder excuse making talk about bullshyt.
like lose strength shyt a fukk'n lie.
I am still rehab'n. With seven months to go till close grip strength can be completed at any weight because of my bone healing scheduled.
yet that is all in bone structure damage.
from numerous general misses.
generally rrquired in skateboarding at thrifty nine and forty two plus.

I ain't twenty or thirty sumfin talking bout i lost strength.
