Deciding to switch things up a bit today. Haven't been to the gym since I think Tuesday or Wednesday. Been a long work week and hopefully I won't get to go to the gym at all this upcoming week. So I was gonna go today but I decided since its nice out that I'm gonna go for a swim. Get some good cardio going with that. And I haven't been in the pool since we remodeled it last year. It'll be good to get some swimming going. Sure I won't see any women like at the gym but I'll most surely do something with my boy later tonight so the females can wait. Bout to let this breakfast digest, yes breakfast at 2pm, have to sleep in on the weekends to make up for lost sleep, and get to it. Hopefully the weather stays good with its unpredictable ass. :francis:

I gotta step my game up when it comes to prepping/diet. Need to learn how to cook this damn cod right.

Does anyone have a good core workout? My core is stalling my squat and deadlift progress. I want to mix some core work into my leg say tomorrow.

What accessories are you doing with squats and deads? “Core workouts” might not be to solve.

I just do leg stuff. I've been following the routine from the one guy's IG that was posted a few months back. I add and a few other stuff like calf raises, standing leg curl, and lunges.

Quads

Leg extensions

BB squats

Smith front touching feet

Hammy

Deficit stiff leg dead lift

Lying leg curl

Smith machine squats plank in heels

Hip thrust

I suspect it's my core since that's what is always sore and not my legs. I've done very little core work since I've been lifting again for 2 years after taking a year off.

IMO I don’t thing that what a lot of people would consider “Core workouts” is going to help with heavy compounds relative to what you seem to be looking for. I’m talking very broadly here of course.

Have you thought about adding variations of squats and deads to your routine?

I do front squats with my feet together, squats on the Smith machine with a piece of wood under the heels, and the stiff legged deadlifts on the aerobic stepper. I've been slacking on the sumo deadlifts with dumbells.

Are there any variations that you would recommend?
