I can't quit, too much fun pulling from the floor.
Fun now, but the load and compression on your spinal column is serious

Just gotta manage it correctly. I don't feel pressure on either and I don't use a beltFun now, but the load and compression on your spinal column is serious![]()
After seeing some relatives dealing with back problems later in life, there's no way I'm doing heavy deadlifts/squats anymore, no matter how great your form is there's going to be pressure on the spine and actually seeing someone dealing with spinal stenosis it's just not worth it![]()

Were you experiencing those pains now or were you anticipating them?Yup. I've washed my hands of squats and deadlifts. Body ain't designed to take that abuse weekly over countless years. I'm good on the leg press and some lunges.
My knees, shoulders, wrists, and lower back long term health are too important to me. I wanna be fully physically capable and pain free for as long as possible
I got super long femurs. Even when I take a wide sumo stance by the time I get to parallel I am sitting so far back from mid foot (center of gravity) I have to bend my short torso all the way over for bar to be balanced over my foot. It's a cruel game of physics I can't win. If I don't bend over that far the bar is far behind my center of gravity that I have zero balance. Were you experiencing those pains now or were you anticipating them?
Everybody has to do what's best for them. I think it's manageable if you find what works for you but if you don't want to it's not my place to say differentI don't cosign none of this deadlift/squat talk.
I want to be deadlifting till I'm 60.![]()
