I edited before you responded...on what exactly a seated squat is. YOu squatting down on a box/bench and coming up or is this you using the "leg press" machine?
Similar to the leg press machine, but the part your feet is on doesn't move so you're pushing off instead of up.

Only reason I stopped doing leg presses is cause they shyt always broke :beli:

C'mon dawg then you can't say leg day is the easiest when you don't squat or deadlift.....and IMO cardio with your feet don't count as legs.:francis:

Machines are a good supplement and lunges are too, but the physical demand of squats can't be replicated.....:noah:

Fam I thought that was 200 reps on box squats
It's doable depending on the weight. Squats always been the easiest workout for me, going back to HS.

Worst part is just the hurt on your shoulder.

Machines are OK to develop legs. Wifey saw decent gains once I got her barbell squat right, but she made the fastest, easiest, most painless gains when we used the hack squat machine back in NYC. Lot of the Mr Olympia dudes only use machines because the risk from squatting isn't worth it. Personally I just enjoy squats but I'm seriously contemplating buying some kind of machine (prob a leverage squat machine) to get some easy quad (and possibly hamstring) volume in

I barely do squats and I have made a lot gains in my quads over the past 1.5 yrs.

Doing pyramids, dropsets and 10-15 reps on leg press got me right :yeshrug:

Lunges
Hack squat
Single leg extentions

Before it goes left some people prefer machines and some people prefer barbells. It can all work depending on your goals.

I'm down with the barbell but that's personal preference.

I'm sick of leg day period because I am tired of the injuries.

Just now I'm finally starting to recover from Piriformis Syndrome, which has seriously affected my life for 6 weeks now

This is the 3rd major muscle strain I have gotten in the last few years, all happened during leg day.

I have have never gotten an upper body injury.

Machines are looking more and more attractive. I think I just have tight hips/ankles and it causes mechanical breakdowns

That may help, but 75% of the reason I work out is just for fun

Slow, light, controlled leg day is not fun. Its a chore.

Injuries arent fun either, but there has to be a happy, safe median. I just need to find it.

Ultimately the muscles don't care. All they see is load. If you keep increasing volume and using good form it doesn't really matter what you do. Wifey saw gains off of machines... looking to cop another one for her soon.

I will say this though- I don't think there's any exercise as good as the deadlift for building the posterior chain. Leg curls only work one of the hamstring's heads

Had to delay yesterday's leg day until the next opportunity I get to go. Had a rough day yesterday when my mom had a clogged artery/heart attack and a co-worker had to rush her to the hospital. Luckily she reacted in time and they put something to clear the blockage. Still scary nonetheless. Nurse said it may be her diet since she does these weird Chinese diets and was doing a no sugar one recently and had been complaining about gas or something the past few days. Granted she's in her late fifties compared to me in my early thirties, but everyone still gotta take care of themselves. She's not overweight or anything. Just diet and stress that caused it. Can't take things for granted anymore. If you ain't living right, I suggest you do. Lose fat, eat junk less often, and don't worry about bullshyt. Thank God she pulled thru. Just gotta wait for her to recover.

I do deadlifts like once a month for fun.
