Man dont feel bad. I'm 5'8 160lbs and can only see my top 2 abs. And I do 300 crunches a day.

Damn, so that means I have a lot more to go before I see mine. I'm about the same height. Would you say you're top heavy or even all around? I think my top half and bottom half weigh about the same, or atleast it looks like it. I don't think I can drop to 160 unless it's just bones and muscles but maybe I'm wrong. I'm 177 usually. A pound or two more now since I ate a few burgers over the weekend that need to be burned off this week. :snoop:. I can lose weight but I'm not the slim built type.

Any exercises other than crunches that you recommend? I hear it's mostly based on fat too. Like getting a decent diet. I try to do lunges for the sides. Maybe I gotta up the ab exercises more often. And burn a bit of fat off so it can show more.

It's a few things:

Some of it is pure genetics. Some guys just naturally have bigger abs that show easier at lower levels of BF

BF% like you mentioned

Exercise wise, its heavy compound lifts (deads, squats, OHP), some isolation work and sprinting can help as well.

I saw a reminder the other day but ultmately they need to be trained like any other muscle. I don't know that crunches and movements like that will get you there if you aren't kind of predisposed to having them.

I'm well rounded. See it's hard to judge with me. I've been going to the gym for about a year. I started at 130lbs. I'm at 160 now. I eat like shyt. As much fat and carbs as possible. To gain weight. So it's probably bc of that

Pushups done killed me. Was planning on doing arms but said fukk that after. Overall thru the five sets I did a total of 160. With some short rest between sets to get the last few in. Decided to make it a leg day. Doing leg press at 320 got one more set of ten. Also mixing in calf presses, sets of twenty. Was gonna hop on the squat rack next but this girl just got on. She got a nice body too. :leon:

Maybe I'll just hop on some leg machines instead if another rack don't free up.

Lord please give me my deadlifting strength back :mjcry: how the fukk I get stronger on all these other compound lifts but deads went to shyt. I swear nothing carries over to deadlift

That's how I feel about bench. My bench press game is :flabbynsick: even though I've been hitting PRs on deads and squats the last few weeks.
Mine too but that's because I hardly benched in college. My squat and overhead press are booming :whoo:

I don't ever feel like I'm getting anything done when I go to the gym unless I go to one of their classes. I think I need a trainer.

I've got a plan for deadlift rehab. I'm weak off the floor, so after my working sets today i dropped the weight to 405 and did double overhand deads but here's the key: I reset between reps. No bouncing or momentum at all, and that's how I plan on keeping it. No more touch-and-go. It should also mitigate the issues I used to have with butt-wink when I used to do lots of touch-and-go sets in college (which always hurt my back)

Some older dude I occasionally see around the gym stopped me today to tell me that I was the strongest person he has seen in size-to-strength ratio :ehh:

I don't take compliments well so I just told him the truth, that I was strong for my size but a low level competitive powerlifter in my weight class would torch me with ease :francis:

But he wasn't having that so he told me that I was the strongest "normal" guy he has seen:ehh:

But I still don't take compliments well so I thanked him but I was just thinking in my head "this guy in reality is calling you a skinny midget" :mjlol:

Its these weighted dips and pullups. If your gym is not frequented by serious lifters, you are instantly a god once you strapped a plate around your waist:lolbron:
