:jbhmm:

I had too much volume in my routine.... cut some unnecessary shyt out and got focused :whoo: Shoulders are DOMSd the fukk out for the first time in years

Sometimes I add too much weight too fast.... gotta cut back and keep that form. Stay disciplined

So sometimes less is more. All about finding that balance

Chose to go with a gvt scheme last night for upper body vertical movements (I've been doing advanced gvt for the most part, which is different)

Did 10x10 with weighted pullups (25lbs plate, grand total of 260lbs). I'd only done 10x10 with bodyweight before last night.

And then weighted ring dips with 50lbs added 5x5.

I love dips and pullups :mjcry:

Pretty much what I've done. Lowered the weight on everyone of my routines. My shoulders grew the fastest. But the last 3 or 4 weeks all I've been working on is my core(abs and chest really). I haven't focused on anything else.

Sometimes less is more brehs :jbhmm:

Agree, I concentrate a lot more on:

Bench
Deads
Squats
Pressing

Hardly any machines nowadays, no dedicated arm day either, not done flys in ages, lots of various moves I used to do to "hit the muscle at another angle" I have cut out.

With reverse pyramid on the above focus my strength has gone up weekly and I feel fresher for ever gym session, I also have cut down from 5 times a week to 3 times a week this is helping me big time, I am fully refreshed thus being able to lift heavier and better.

"Quality over quantity"

Gone are days for spending 2 hours in the gym 5-6 days week

I feel u.... I had been pruning away all the fancy equipment out of my routine to get ready to work out primarily at home, but in doing so I found that I preferred to keep it simple just because. I'm really trying to prioritize good form, honest progression and recovery... makes things go a lot better.

What made me want to hone my focus more was I recorded my form on a few lifts... for bench and squats I am good, but those were always my bread and butter lifts. On damn near everything else I was :trash:.... for example on cable rows my ROM was nonexistent, and for seated shoulder press my back was damn near arched to 90 degrees. So I had to scrap everything, cut out a lot of bullshyt and just get back to the basics. Thats another thing I would recommend everyone do... record or get someone to record your lifts, even the bullshyt accessories.

starting to see my abs...bout fukking time :wow:

I'm a little introspective when it comes to feeling out my form on lifts @GinaThatAintNoDamnPuppy! ...plus I know trying to find a spot to prop my phone to record would annoy the fukk outta me after a while.

Less is more though...the big three with chins, dips and assorted bodyweight shyt...I'm good money.

I fell off during the fall because of work, lack of reliable transportation and a dislocated elbow. I'm back in action, now and about to return to my gym rat ways. I hate when 24-hr gyms are closed during the holidays. I need to get my workout in Christmas morning before I go eat up some shyt. Plus, it's easy to fall back into lazy mode when you're just starting to develop good workout habits.... and the gym is closed. Looks like I'll be getting it in at a park.

Today was two-a-day day. Went in at noon, will going in tonight around 9-10pm (or before dinner), then a 6-7am workout before returning to work.
