Haven't been able to do squats or deads due to my stupid fukkin back
I haven't been able to do either for several months......it really, really sucks.
It's high reps that are the problem. Form is guaranteed to go out the window especially with deadlifts because they exhaust your whole entire bodyFor whatever it's worth, I haven't had a back injury since I stopped doing heavy deadlifts.... even when I was hitting 325x5 on squats
Gonna see how the newbies do at my gym. Might switch to home workouts for a month or two
Take it from the old man, it ain't worth it.It's high reps that are the problem. Form is guaranteed to go out the window especially with deadlifts because they exhaust your whole entire body
Yeah like flex lewis said unless you're getting paid for this shyt, don't risk your health over it. Or some shyt like that. It was on the dolce podcastTake it from the old man, it ain't worth it.
Mayne I was getting killed off of 5 rep sets. They were for like 380-400 though. I could safely do em for like 50-100lbs less but that shyt was boring to meIt's high reps that are the problem. Yep I've got low handles. honestly that shyt isn't much more comfy than a straight bar but the advantage is that it brings the quads into the picture big timeSpeaking of hex bar deadlifts, I did them using the lower handles on the hex bar for the first time yesterday. 3 X 5.
Much harder than using the high handles for obvious reasons. I think I'm gonna use the low bars from now on except when I wanna test my max on the high handles (which is more of a partial squat than anything)
Yea, volume heavy deads is tricky as fukk. I remember after like 2-3 years off, I worked my way up singles to a ~450 pull. I think I will keep my heavy deadlift volume to like 1-2 workouts a yearI aint even a fan of 5 rep sets for deadlifts unless its a SINGLE set and done. Still too high. Hex bar I'll go 5, but straight bar I do almost exclusively singles. If I wanted to start a real program of progression, you might catch me pulling out triples but thats it

Yep every damn thing has been irritating my back since last SaturdayYuuuup. If it's 1-3 reps I could likely pull every 72hrs for a few weeks even if I went heavy.
That 5 reps and up shyt on deadlifts just seems unnessesary unless ur training for a meet or something, even if you reset after each rep things get ugly quick. .. It just messes you up and effects all your other lifts
