I watched the whole game, rondo was superb, especially on defense, he is finally becoming a leader and you can tell people feed off his energy.
Stop it.
Stats aren't everything.
The problem with that is, they basically are. Listen I'm not saying that he doesn't have any value as a player or his BBIQ isn't off the charts (which helps his team in certain situations). But the thing you have to keep in mind is that all these intangibles y'all like to put in front view, is more or less just a distraction tactic - to his style of play and impact which is not conducive to winning and never has been.

The equivalent would be saying you have to look at a pedophile's good qualities -- in the midst of a trial.

dudes criticizing didnt even watch the game...rondo was engaged the whole time...spacing the floor for boogie to post up even if he wasnt getting the assist...rondo is a floor director essentially, its a very young team so having someone like rondo is crucial...otherwise cousins would have no room to operate

Rondo spaces the floor? :laff:

Cousins wouldn't have room to operate if it wasn't for Rondo? :laff:

by spacing I mean he tells his teamates where to go, Im not lauding his jumpshot
You do realize that he wouldn't need to do this if he looked to score right (and was capable of scoring at a high clip)? If he commanded defensive attention, his players would get open naturally. There's times he literally stands in one spot (while his defender gives him a shooting cushion and helps on another man), and he's telling his players to move around - either wasting time on the clock or/and leaving his teammates to try and get open on a 4v5 situation. As opposed to a PG like Curry, Westbrook, CP etc etc who attract defensive attention and give their players more space to work and less defenders to score against, by just being a threat to score - defenders play them closer, attract help defenders, create matchup advantages and give the offense another point of scoring difference.

Let me ask you - is an offense going to be more efficient and fluid with the main ball-handler as a playmaker or as a playmaker/scorer? What would be easier for defenses to defend? A guy just looking to pass all game or a guy who is an equal threat to pass and score at any given time? Which of those players would cause more chaos on the opposition's defense?

The stats (and common sense) are almost completely in favor of ONE of these types - the question is which one do you think it is?

Would we all haved wanted michael jordan on our team? yes in a heartbeat , steph curry? yes over anyone, westbrook? for sure .....but I will for sure be willing to take a playmaker/leader that knows the X and Os...those are far in between in the NBA , I look forward to the 2nd half of the season, hopefully they can keep it going...

Breh do you know the definition of a point guard. Rondo's one of the last true pure players at his position when it comes to play making

:francis:

And this is the inherent problem with how y'all value Rondo. Who gives a fukk what traditional standard he upholds - it's about winning and winning only. We're living in a period of time in which we have all this knowledge and data at our disposal, and yet we still want to use this false sense of "purity" as a crutch, because we can't deal with the REALITY that there are new and better ways of playing the game.

It's like y'all dudes can't think for yourselves.

I don't wanna hear none of y'all Rondo stans say ANYTHING about him leading this team ever again. He's completely WORTHLESS when Cousins isn't on the court with him.

:camby:

So when did Rondo fukk your bytch breh? Outside of :troll: but rightfully so, I've never seen someone on here go in on a NBA player this long
