but it wasnt white enforced segregation.............

did you even pay attention ?
Yes it was white enforced segregation, its a white school and it was a black dorm by order of the white school
Its disgusting.
Not to mention the concept of a black dorm or race based dorms is ridiculous in the first place for any school, HBCU or PWI, because the benefit of school is interaction with people of different beliefs, not hiding from differences.
SMH.

Yes, are you actually going to try to say as a black man I should be for segregation?
How old are you, <24 ?
We segregate ourselves all the time bruh. Sometimes you want to be around people like yourself especially if you're engulfed in a society of whiteness.

If you don't understand the difference between black people hanging out at a place they choose and a black only dorm on a white university or a white only dorm at a black university, there is nothing to say to you kid.
Only thing I can tell you is you are confused. Like Malcolm X said, there is a difference between segregation and separtation.

This new type of black man, he doesn't want integration; he wants separation. Not segregation, separation. To him, segregation, as we're taught by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, means that which is forced upon inferiors by superiors. A segregated community is a Negro community. But the white community, though it's all white, is never called a segregated community. It's a separate community. In the white community, the white man controls the economy, his own economy, his own politics, his own everything. That's his community. But at the same time while the Negro lives in a separate community, it's a segregated community. Which means it's regulated from the outside by outsiders. The white man has all of the businesses in the Negro community. He runs the politics of the Negro community. He controls all the civic organizations in the Negro community. This is a segregated community.

We don't go for segregation. We go for separation. Separation is when you have your own. You control your own economy; you control your own politics; you control your own society; you control your own everything. You have yours and you control yours; we have ours and we control ours.

They don't call Chinatown in New York City or on the West Coast a segregated community, yet it's all Chinese. But the Chinese control it. Chinese voluntarily live there, they control it. They run it. They have their own schools. They control their own politics, control their own industry. And they don't feel like they're being made inferior because they have to live to themselves. They choose to live to themselves. They live there voluntarily. And they are doing for themselves in their community the same thing you do for yourself in your community. This makes them equal because they have what you have. But if they didn't have what you have, then they'd be controlled from your side; even though they would be on their side, they'd be controlled from your side by you.

So when we who follow the Honorable Elijah Muhammad say that we're for separation, it should be emphasized we're not for segregation; we're for separation. We want the same for ourselves as you have for yourselves. And when we get it, then it's possible to think more intelligently and to think in terms that are along peaceful lines. But a man who doesn't have what is his, he can never think always in terms that are along peaceful lines.

A black only dorm on a white campus that is madated by white authority is segregation. What is hard to understand about that?
the black kids aren't picking which dorm to make black only, white staff is, on top of that like I said in my first post to you, why any university would be making race specific dorms is questionable.
The benefit of college is forced interaction with people of different beliefs, not grouping people by race.
Its absurd.

No it wasn't, it was literraly a black only dorm made that way by the administration.
You must have skipped over the whole conversation in the President's office when the daughter walked in.
They literally called it the segregated dorm and she said we should end segregation or "I'm definitely against segregation" so he decided to close down that dorms status as being "the black" dorm.
SMH.

This is based on real life at one of the Californian colleges having a officially segregated black only dorm by the way.

It's wasn't mandated by the university. The black only, Asian only and other "segregated" dorms in the episodes happened as a result of students choosing to live together with people that looked like them. The authority wanted to break it up because it looked like the very thing you are arguing against. There wasn't a campus rule that said only black people can go to this dorm or that black people weren't allowed in another dorm, it was just a matter of a lot of the black students visiting seeing that dorm was where most black students lived and applying to live there too.

What was being fought for wasn't forced segregation. It a was fight against being forced to leave your chosen home because someone else decided that you shouldn't live with just people like you.

It was mandated by the university, that is why the university could close the dorm down and reassign students.
Again it was called the black dorm for a reason.
Stop trying to fight for non-sense, this is real shyt this episode is trying to support, PWI created black only dorms. This is disgusting how you kids seem to think white segregation is something to fight for.
Its trully a testament to the lack of education provided at public schools and non-sense pushed by the media that you think this is something that should be embraced and fought for, instead of looking at in disgust.

You know when they first announced the spinoff, I wasn't sure because Zooey was my least favorite Johnson but they surrounded her with a good comedy cast. Plus since I stayed in-state for tuition to go to a PWI, I figure I'll see a bunch of relatable things pop off.

You missed the part of the conversation before she walked in when they were talking about how it happened unofficially.

The university could shut it down and reassign them because it's university owned property, that doesn't prove it was mandated as a black dorm. It was unofficially called the black dorm because only black students lived there.

You seem to be arguing that no institution should be able to exclude people from living where they want or force them to live in only one place based on race. No one disagrees with that, we just disagree on whether that's what was happening in this episode.

I do believe that there is nothing wrong with a group of people choosing to live in an area with other people of the same race if all options are available equally. If that is the case no one should be forced to change that because it's making outsiders uncomfortable.
