I'm not sure what you mean by failed state, that's a loaded word, but whether Canada, Europe or Africa, languages divide people

And for the United States that is already multiracial and has plenty of divisions it is unwise to try to promote different languages as equal to English

i don't have a problem with many different cultures calling America beautiful in their native language ...we have always been about freedom and ideas not genetic disposition...the idea is that all humans can prosper with the philosophy of freedom and democracy and free markets

That's just my interpretation of it along with other things you see going on, English is a fundamental part of American culture and there is movement to change that and make America multilingual

Yeah you can speak more than language, the issue is that people are just speaking one language and it's not English

Cultural diversity is not a strength, it's a weakness, if you look at countries like Nigeria or Canada it's very obvious that cultural diversity is not a strength, it's a weakness becuase it lessens the ability for people to cooperate and govern the country

America is very peculiar compared to other countries in that it traditionally puts tremendous pressure on immigrant to assimilate and integrate, only under the peculiar circumstance where you have huge integrationist pressure does cultural diversity become a strength

But in and of itself there is no evidence that cultural diversity is a strength

Again there is nothing in the commercial that says advocates non-assimilation or not learning English. Nor is there any definitive proof that cultural diversity is a weakness. There are plenty of examples of cultural homogeneity being weaknesses as well. The US ranks highest in fertility/birth rates due to its high immigration and diverse culture- you can see this by which segments of the population are seeing growth over time. Japan is already crumbling under the weight of its aging populace and extensive social programs w/nobody paying into them. So high birth rates are a good thing because unlike China or Japan we will have young people to support govt programs and keep the economy growing. Plus lack of diversity = lack of dissent/alternative means of thinking, which means the collective is more likely to make bad decisions. If everyone agrees on a bad idea (i.e. China's 1 child rule) or everyone thinks the same (i.e. China's complete lack of technical innovation), the culture and economy stagnate (i.e. what you have left in China once you look past all the state fueled asset bubbles). Cultural diversity is why, despite its many faults, America is the greatest country in the world, and arguably NYC is the greatest city in the world, both by many important metrics and just subjectively/culturally. If anything we need more diversity, particularly in govt.

I dont get how you can say America's weakness is its diversity, at all, when its diversity is one of its most unique factors, and it is among the most prosperous and culturally/industrially/philosophically diverse societies in the history of mankind.

I am very sure I answered your question already, so let me repeat

In other words americans accepting immigrants from all over the world and turning them into English speaking Americans is what makes America great, simply accepting immigrant does not make America great

In fact simply accepting immigrants without huge integrationist forces is an existential threat to America or any country for that matter

I'm not being anti immigrant I'm simply saying that immigrants need to learn English and that the government and corporations should stop encouraging second languages
