This is a gagillion times harder than any other rap death for me personally. ODB was tough but I almost saw that as inevitable.

I don't think any death in hip-hop during my lifetime has affected me as much as this. I was too young when Pac, Big, Pun and Big L passed. ODB was the first hip-hop death that I remember seeing the news break for but I was only 11 years old at the time so it didn't hit me as hard as this. Me and my group of friends all bonded over Sean Price and BCC. Literally everyone I played his music for would find something they liked about it. Whether they listened to rap or not, there was something that everyone could relate to in his music. Whether it was his self-deprecating, honest songs or the songs where he would lyrically abuse any emcee who dared step on the track with him. I honestly would have payed to see Sean Price do stand up because he was that funny. His interviews are gold. I can only imagine how his friends and family feel right now. The world lost a great treasure.
