That's not what I'm saying at all. Franken decided to end his own career based on pressure from his colleagues.

Private industries have decided that multiple or egregious accusations warrant termination or suspension. In public offices, the Democrats have decided something similar while Republicans aren't giving a fukk.

On the flip side to this women for generations used to have their own careers ended for even coming out with things like this. Yall are just going to have to die on this hill on this one.

Franken's going to be replaced with a Dem anyway, so politically if that's all that matters to yall then it will be alright.
Doesn’t matter that another dem replaces Al he actually would call out the conservatives on Their bs and vile actions. He was one of the very few that would call out conservatives

Exactly

All you need is one hand to count the amount of dems with a spine and we just lost one of them...
Or get more Dems elected so we don’t have to placate Republican stupidity instead of relying on a handful to call them out as they pass bad tax bills, gun legislation, or abortion bans despite being called out.

Okay so what do we know about this lady?
Also does the gov get to appt a new lt gov or is that some line of succession thing?

Succession and this is shaking up Minnesota politics. It's going to be a big year in 2018. Dayton is retiring so there's an open governor race in Minnesota too.

He should appoint the Attorney General who's popular and has name recognition. It's easier to win as a well-known incumbent.

Gov. Mark Dayton likely to tap Lt. Gov. Tina Smith as Franken replacement

If Smith is appointed, however, state Sen. Michelle Fischbach, R-Paynesville, the president of the Senate, would become the lieutenant governor.

That in turn would set up a special election for Fischbach’s Senate seat along with the seat being vacated by Sen. Dan Schoen, DFL-St. Paul Park, who recently announced his own resignation after allegations of sexual harassment.

The state Senate is currently controlled by Republicans by one vote, which means the DFL could take control if it holds the Schoen seat and flips the Fischbach district.

Who knows. The man followed correct procedure for accusations like this and got railroaded. I understand why Dems did it but if it backfires it will halt any momentum the party had. The first test will be the 12th. If Moore wins the Dems won't even have a moral victory. I dont get the impression Al was guilty, and he didn't run from the accusations. So how can forcing an innocent man to retire be a moral victory?

If Moore loses, then the gambit worked. The Minnesota seat is safe Dem and you have the perceived moral high ground on the morality police. Let's see how it goes.

One last thing, not trying to minimise sexual harassment, but:

Kamala Harris
Patty Murray
Kirsten Gillibrand
Mazie Hirono
Maggie Hassan
Claire McCaskill

they had better not expect ANY mercy if they fukk up going forward. They have set the standard for destroying a colleague without due process.
