Ain't nothing wrong with having 'female friends' as long as you realize they will never be like your male road dogs. You got to come in with the realization that as soon as they get a man, most likely they will disappear.
How you befriend the woman is what matters. If it was someone you tried to get at, but she wasn't feeling you and you are hanging around as her 'friend', that's one thing... but if it's just a cool female that you happened to talk to one day, and you might not be all that attracted to her, but you just like her conversation, that's another.
In fact, one of the things about having female friends is that you just get a lot more comfortable talking to females in general since you are always having conversations with one, so you aren't going through that 'dry spell' in your conversation when you don't have any interested ladies you're getting at.
Just make sure that you don't allow her to turn you into a 'favor buddy' or a 'complaint buddy'.
