I'm in the Huntsville, Alabama area which surprisingly has a bit of diversity since there's a large Army Base right next to it. But yeah, I've heard plenty on how the Northwest is. I was actually trying to get to the Seattle area back when I was choosing a college to go to in the early 2000s. Ended up going to school near Orlando, FLA....
