Considering that he lives 8+ hours away, there’s nothing else to be had with him besides a friendship of occasional phone calls, and texts. I’m not interested in dating anyone seriously right now and definitely not interested in a long distance relationship. Take that as you will.

Firstly no they do not, a girl a guy is fukking or plotting on fukking is not his friend, friend is not the word used to describe his relationship with her. But girls use the word friend loosely like that when referring to males so they can disguise who they are and aren't fukking. Using the term friend and friendship also sounds better than saying some guy you just fukk occasionally, saying shyt like friends and friendship does the same thing and serves the same purpose for you that fukking your ex's to keep your body count low does, masks the full story of your activities and helps you feel less like a hoe because of a technicality where we (and you yourself) may conclude otherwise if your stats were fully analysed.
